First I compare the formation with an simple encoder wheel. Encoder wheels exist in many different varieties and are used for computing. I believe the computer game Zenerchi you confronted us with is only inspired on the concept of an encoder wheel, just as the crop formation seems to do. 

Second I show a diagram that has the binary codes based on 11-bit segments noted at their side. The choice of 11-bit codes instead of 7 or 8 bits Ascii-codes leads us to lighter a Hamming system or otherwise a Gray system. Both these systems have to do with ERROR CORRECTION in communication. In relation to the heart I can imagine it is suggested to live in close contact with the heart in order to correct the errors we only now and then make.
