However, four years had passed without any crop circles
have occurred in these areas. This time it is also a
particular date. The fact that this crop has
"materialized" on May 20th, will probably rise many
thought and speculation. On this date in fact there was
a planetary alignment between the Pleiades, the Earth
and the Sun, and there was an annular solar eclipse.
Moreover, according to some Mayan prophecies and other
by Nostradamus (or better according to some
interpretations of the same), this date was expected an
earthquake, which - unfortunately - has sadly occurred
in Emilia, with its epicentre only 150 km away from the
place where the Crop circle was found (presumably, and
approximately, at the same time of the earthquake).
Often we tend to relate astronomical phenomena such as
eclipses and satellite alignments with geological
phenomena such as earthquakes and tremors. This idea,
however, is something fideistic, since in fact there is
not any scientific or empirical reference.
Specifically, we like to quote an article published by
the website of Italian Radio-Television "RAI-3,"
entitled: "Ma quando Maya!?!?!?"
Concerning the prophecy of Nostradamus is said: "The verse should be the quatrain 83 of the ninth
century, that actually reads:
Sol vingt de Taurus fort lands Trembler, The remply
ruinera grand theater, the air, heaven & earth &
obscurcir troubler, the lors infidele Dieu & saincts
voguera.
"The Sun in twenty degrees of Taurus so strong the earth
trembles, the great theater filled will collapse, air,
earth and sky, darkened and distressed, when the infidel
will call upon God and saints."
So not the 20 days of the Taurus, but the twenty degrees
of Taurus. And the sun is 20 degrees in Taurus on May
11th of each year, not the day 20.
Infact the same quatrain was used last year, to predict
the terrible earthquake that would wipe out Rome on 11
May 2011, again according to very precise prophecies
that were identified in the "great theater" Colosseum
"</ i>
On the other hand, the Mayan prophecy would come from
another crop circle, found on August 9, 2005 in
Oxfordshire, which showed - according to the analysis of
some "experts" - the situation of the sky right in the
May 20, 2012 (alignment and Eclipse) . What is omitted
is that, in 2005, we already knew (since a very long
time) that in May 20, 2012, this event would have
occurred. However that this may represent a potential
danger of volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, or other, is
entirely arbitrary. Also the article mentioned above, in
this regard, argues that the interpretation of crop
circle in 2005, far from being unambiguous, "is a
fantastic way to make objective what is not only
subjective but let's say a total fabrication ".
How do we then explain that there was an earthquake?
We continue to read the article, and the answer to that
question is borrowed by the thought of the journalist
Paolo Attivissimo: to say "somewhere in the world the
day X will be an earthquake" is equivalent to announcing
the "X days the sun will rise." Great stuff: seismic
data reveal that an earthquake somewhere in the world,
takes place every day .
Do not believe it? Follow on Twitter @ or @

shocks Centre Sismologique Euro-Méditerranéen (thanks to
@ AltEnergyIt for reporting): for the poor Azerbaijans,
stricken by an earthquake on May 7, the Maya have not
spent even a small item? This is a map of the shock in
Europe over the last 14 days. Look how many white dots,
yellow and orange there. The data are clear: there is no
prophecy at work, but only our natural tendency to look
for connections between events and look for easy
explanations that give order to the universe. "

But let's go back on the case of Bracciano -
Bertinoro.
We talk with Demetrio Santini, author of some very nice
pictures. Santini has sufficient knowledge of this
phenomenon (some reports in past years have been made by
him) and has been in place in first person. He said: "I heard about the crop circle (located in via Molino
Bratti, near Bracciano) thanks to a friend who lives in
the area, already the morning of Sunday. Following the
cycling race "Nove Colli " (that also passes thrugh
Bertinoro) he noticed something. A man who lives on the
hill in front of him says he saw the pictogram on Sunday
morning. Reported a busy coming and going of people,
although during my visit there were only 3 (plus others
that have appeared later.. 3 kids). The crushing is not
very clear, the grain appears infrequently and the
ground below is sloping and somewhat irregular. At the
center of the formation there are 3 tufts: one
approximately in the center, the two other more and more
shifted towards the outside. The first is a classic
tufted tuft [English word to indicate a bush, an
asset, not uncommon in crop circles, usually at the
center of a circle-shaped and often swallow's nest] ,
the second looks like a mess, the third is a woven or
knotted tuft at the base. The paths connecting the
corridors of the spirals have a width of about 50cm. I
could not count them, but it seems that thay increase
their distance gradually unrolls the spiral from the
center. At times seem more regular, sometimes less.
Difficult to judge in the absence of aerial photos. "
Another researcher who has sufficient knowledge of this
phenomenon, and that he was personally on site, is Gian
Domenico Marchi. We also talked with him, and he
confirmed what was written on his website, where there
is a report on this case. Here we read that the crop
circle "appeared in the night between 19 and 20 May
2012, and has been seen by the farmer at 8:00PM in the
day 20. It is located in V. Molino Bratti 3189 in a
cornfield with a nice slope and aspect. [Coordinates:] N
??44 ° 08 '35.9'' E 12 ° 09' 37.8''. Measuring 55.8
meters has 67 half-circles, a spiral and a right-hand
outer circumference.
At the center of the inner circle that measures 16
meters in diameter we find a spike remained deliberately
erected ".
(www.faenzashiatsu.it / crop /
Bracciano_Bertinoro.html)
It is the "tuft" of which was talking also Santini, and
that very often we find the centre of crop circles.
Here, the "tufts" are not in the centre of the circle,
but there are at least three (plus a few erect ears), in
apparently random positions.

We take this opportunity to still try to do some
'information about these clumps. The idea behind the
bunch centre is of a "vorticistic" origin. As you've
probably heard, the centre of a tornado or whirlwind is
generated inside a cone of static which is dominated by
an almost total silence and calm. For this reason, the
ears, in this centre, are not affected. This is one of
the reasons why in the past it was thought that crop
circles could be generated by strong wind, or plasma.
Today, this explanation is no longer in vogue, and
"tuft" have been attributed to other core meanings, more
or less conventional or fanciful. Without wanting to
delve too much in matters of detail, however, we take
this opportunity to explain how these clumps also make
part of the repertoire of some circle- or land-artists.
And how, for an expert observer, these clumps can also
be a factor in assessing the skill level of the latter.
Lodging the grain, it is possible to proceed from the
outside inwards, or vice versa from the inside outwards.
In the first case the circle maker will find itself
(once arrived at the centre and therefore to the
completion of the circle) with some stems which - being
more or less long - will collide with each other,
eventually overlapping the opposite semicircle.

Picture of the intersection of two sections of the crop
circle of Bertinoro. The intersection of the ears due to
a blockage similar to what happens in the center of the
circle when you proceed to flatten wheat from outside to
inside
The solution, in these cases, it is very often to use
the latter back circular, tying the stems between their
central, or by creating a tangle, asset, or "tuft" in
fact, usually to swallow nest (which in some extent
creates its own, for conveying the ears. Easier to do
than to explain).
Picture a tuft in Bertinoro , photo G. Brands,
Faenzashiatsu
In the opposite case, if we proceed from the inside
outwards, at the centre there will be a thinning of the
stems, a kind of hole (sometimes a real hole, caused by
the presence of a pole used as a core pin).
</ a> Image: G. Brands, Faenzashiatsu.it
To mask this central zone, sparse and sometimes
perforated, one of the possible techniques is to leave
the stems intact, not killed, to form a precisely "tuft"
(but in this case also, to some extent is created by
itself, if not you have the foresight to make the
rotation toward the centre as we proceed with the first
round. Again: easier to do than to explain).
In this case (Bertinoro)it would seem that we have both
two hypotheses-methods mentioned above. In fact - and so
we return to what is reported by G. Marchi on "Faenzashiatsu"
"The semi-circles are 50cm wide and the ears were
bent alternately between a semicircle and the other,
towards the center or from the center of the circle."
The report also claims that some circles in the center
of the ears on the ground have been detached from the
soil, and stems were found with burns.
Here too, the occasion is good to do the devil's
advocate. Beyond the ears plucked from the ground (there
are always if you look carefully), it must be said that
the issue of burning is not convincing. It is often used
by those who believe that the pictogram was generated by
imposing a heat source, presumably microwaves. However,
if this were so, it is not clear why only the ears
flattened (or more often only a few of them) exhibit
this burning (often only apparent, or real but due to
natural causes), while all others are free. Speech
complex to be discussed here, but - for what it's worth
our opinion - the speech of irradiation does not stand
for this and many other reasons. In any case, here in
Bertinoro, the "burning" that seem to be on some ears,
seem to us simply the leaf sheath (colored
brownish-brown) surround the ears, especially visible on
immature plantations (green ).
Detail of torn ears, and leaf sheath.

Santini also sends us a photo that
appears to portray a dead insect on an ear.
Image: D. Santini, granted the use
Cropfiles.it
This fact, apparently insignificant, has previously been
used by researchers to support the hypothesis of
microwave irradiation: exposure to extreme heat would
cook insects, causing death. In general it must be said
that this hypothesis has been widely refuted, to the
extent that - as mentioned above - it is unthinkable to
believe that the alleged source of heat may have acted
solely on preserving certain other ears. Furthermore, it
was discovered that death by microwave exposure has very
different characteristics from those found by the
supporters of this hypothesis, and insects (mainly
flies) as a pretext to endorse this idea had died from
natural causes, and fungal (in particular, "Enteromorpha
muscae"). In the case of Bertinoro however, we can only
say that the image does not explain much, and anyway the
insect (fly? Dead?) Is located on a stem marginal,
erect, so not directly affected by the phenomenon.
Now we come to some curiosities. Someone among the
visitors of the picture, must have decided to make a
little tweaking to the design, or perhaps he simply
wanted to realize how it can be easy, or difficult, make
drawings on the grain. You see it in the right area of
??the photo below, in which were added two small
semicircles, not originally present. He will realize
that maybe is not so difficult, though not so easy. It
is childish spoil the work of others for his own whim.
Image: G. Brands, Faenzashiatsu.it, granted
the use Cropfiles.it
Perhaps, however, that addition can have another
meaning? At Pewsey (Wiltshire) in 2002 was produced a
crop circle very interesting, very much reminiscent of
that of Bertinoro. In both cases, a spiral, and in both
cases there is the presence of a small circle marginal
modified at a later time.
The one in Pewsey was there originally, and was later
amended. In Bertinoro it was added.
Coincidences? Probably yes ... but the doubt remains. It
almost seems that someone, in Bertinoro, wanted to add
that to reset the memory reference in Pewsey. Maybe it
was just a vandal, and the rest are suggestions.
Another curious fact about a statement made by G. Marchi
on its portal Faenzashiatsu: "According to a study by Jay Goldner the pieces that
form the pictogram aerial photos are 71, while I counted
on the ground 67 arcs, and then had to be only 69, this
remains a mystery, except that between 22 and 24, day of
the overflight, changes were made. "
So...another modification? Why?
Images found on many sites online
Thursday, May 24 is put on youtube a video of
Faenzashiatsu, you can see below:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpvsOXqSNWE
The video refers to a number of hypotheses linking the
earthquake to this crop circle, by means of a solar
flare occurred a few days before. About the earthquake
we have already said, while as regards the alleged
relationship between solar activity and crop circles, we
have amply demonstrated in our point of view: "Crop
circles and solar activity. What relationship?",

Below is shown an article by the "Corriere di Romagna"
Another article appears on "Romagnanoi.it" and an
article (by Alberto Mori) also in the on-line journal "befan.it"

Even "La voce" talks about this case:
As was easily predictable, there have been attempts to
link this pictogram with annular eclipse of May 20,
2012. From the site Cropcirleconnector is Red Collie -
not new to eviscerate astral correspondences for several
crop circles - to point out that there is a
correspondence between the numerical glyph Bertinoro and
128 ° cycle of Saros. We try to explain in simple terms
what is it the Saros cycle, and then see if this
correspondence exists or not. We will say simply that
there is a periodicity in the positions they take on
each other mutually the Earth, the Sun and the Moon,
which are each about 18 years to be in the same position
(from which a subsequent cycles of eclipses). But this
is the "Saros period", which refers to only the
geometric position of the planets, and not the angles
and rotations. To take account of the latter we talk
about "Saros cycle": After a period saros, ie 18.32 years we will find the
same geometric situation, but due to the tiny difference
of 0.46 days (see the previous calculation) the Sun will
be shifted by 29' with respect to the node. Therefore
there is a family of eclipses, which begins when the Sun
is the maximum distance from the node to have an
eclipse, in practice when the disks of the Sun and the
Moon is barely skimming. Then, after saros saros, the
Sun moves, the percentage of the solar disc eclipsed
increases to generate total eclipses, then the sequence
is reversed and this cycle is completed when the Sun is
so far from the node that now we can no longer eclipses
occur . These cycles last about 1315 years and are
called saros cycles.
The numbering was established in 1955 by scholar G. van
der Bergh: the number one saros cycle began June 3 and
ended on July 11 -2872 -1582. 11 August 1999 The eclipse
belongs to saros cycle 145, which began January 4, 1639
and contains 77 of which 34 are partial eclipses, an
annular, an annular-total and 41 total
http://www.vialattea.net/esperti/php/risposta.php?num=6446
Now then we are in the cycle n. 145. In which there are
77 eclipses.
See also: http://www.apan.it/conferenze/leeclissi/leeclissi5.htm
But in the circle of Bertinoro elements or parts of the
circular section (the ones that - so to speak - we have
indicated the steps of a hypothetical spiral staircase)
are 71 (actually 69 in the count done by G. Mark the
morning of May 22) .
Then, they say, maybe that pictogram represents a Saros
cycle of the past? But let us ask ourselves: which one?
And why? Red Collie, in fact, argues that it is the 128
cycle.
Why?
Well, because the cycle 128 counts 71 major eclipses and
2 minor one, and in the crop circle of Bertinoro there
are 71 sections and 2 "tuft" within the central circle,
and 71 +2 is 73.
But, if you remember, recently we had counted at least
three tufts , plus some erected ears. Confirmed evidence
from the "field reports" published on the same "cropcircleconnector"
"The center of the formation contains three tufts of
standing crop ... "
We confess our skepticism about this matter. 71 +2 is
definitely 73. The rest is not so undisputable.
