UPDATE:-

This crop circle at West Kennet Long Barrow circle throws up a couple of interesting questions. (1) I understand what is said about the farmer doing a tractor circle, but don't understand why he would do a complete circle, rather than the usual u-turn, commonly seen in that field and other fields. Will have to look out for this unusual Behaviour in other crop circles. (2) I did note some unusual anomalies in this little circle by the long barrow yesterday, so a took a couple of samples. Some of the wheat stalks lying on the ground of the flattened wheat in the circle looked blackened, as if they had gone mouldy. They had no enlarged nodes on their stalks. Others lying on the ground in the circle looked comparatively fresh, and had the tell-tale elongated and bulging nodes on the stalks, that are normally found in the flattened areas of a crop circle. Other people there first pointed this out to me. I have photographed both stalks this evening on my dining room carpet, and have sent you a picture on attachment. The top stalk was lying in the flattened part of the circle pattern - you'll see it has no enlarged node, but the lower one, found in the same place as the other one, does have an enlarged node. Also in the flattened areas of the circle it looked as if the wheat stalks had originally been made into a criss cross pattern, but then there were other stalks lying over them that were not in any pattern. There were some unusual bent, and almost broken in two stems very near the tops of the wheat stems in one or two places too, which looked like human or animal damage. These were in the standing crop, on the edge of the crop circle. Interesting, he?
