Stanton Bridge: does it show the nine planets? And if so,
on what calendar date?

Stanton Bridge of July 14 seems to show the nine planets of our Solar System, each in some specific angular location about the Sun, where different orbital distances have been omitted for clarity.

Thus we see Jupiter (largest), Saturn (next largest), Uranus, Neptune and so on, in order of decreasing size. The calendar date so specified could be unique within the past 5000 or next 5000 years.

Might any viewers of CCC have a long-term, planetary-position astronomy program on their computers to help solve this problem?

RED COLLIE

A similar crop circle was sent to us this week asking if
we could identify the location and date. Can some one help?

NASA designing plaques to send into space and government scientists attempting to design nuclear waste site warning signs illuminate the problem of symbolic communication across cultures. To be effective the elements for interpretation have to be contained within the logic of the symbol.

Whether or not this symbol actually has anything to do with reality, a meaning is relatively easy to determine. There are two elements. There is an outer circle (a symbol of unity or connectivity) with circles representing natural elements of planets or stars. There is an inner circle containing three elements communicating unity which also define boundaries. The three red lines drawn from the centre through the three arms of the organization symbol divide the outer ring into three domains which define the divisions of the nine member elements.

It represents an alliance of three powers. One member consists of three stars or planets, one consists of two stars or planets, and one consists of four stars or planets. The circle outside the outer circle represents a star or planet in the domain of the four. This isolated circle could represent our star or the Earth or could represent an intruder or threat.
