PRENOMEN OF TUTANKHAMUN

KHEPHRI
The scarab glyph of August 21 a
profound pictograph, relating to the earliest
creator gods of the
Egyptian pantheon. Unlike the Hunab–Ku glyph which relates
to the Meso-American sun god Tonitiuh, the scarab is the sun god Khephri,
the following describes attributes of this phenomena.
In Theban theology Khepri is a creator and solar god. It is depicted as a
scarab beetle or a human with a beetle head. The name "Khepri" means, "He
who is coming into being". The scarab or dung beetle rolls its eggs in a
ball of dung on the ground and the baby beetles crawl out from the dung.
The rolling dung ball is seen by the ancient Egyptians to represent the
sun, and the emergence of life from the "primeval mound.
As early as the 5th Dynasty (2494-2345 BC) Khepri is mentioned in the
"Pyramid Texts". Khepri was linked with the creator god, Atum, and also
with the sun-god, Ra. Khepri was linked with resurrection and was believed
to be swallowed each evening by Nut, his mother, to pass through her body
and be reborn in the morning.
From the Middle Kingdom (2055-1650 BC) onwards, the scarab, shaped amulet
became very popular and was incorporated into jewelry. Scarab talismans
were placed over the heart of the deceased to protect it from admitting to
sins during questioning of the spirit, before being admitted to the
afterlife. Many temples had a large stone scarab on a plinth, representing
the temple as the Primeval Mound. There is one such scarab still in place
near to the sacred lake at the Temple Karnak.
AMUN
Khe-At, the origin of time, existed a serpent, Kam-at-f, “he who has
accomplished his time”. As his name indicates, this serpent ceased to exist
when his time was past. He had, however, a son, Ir-ta, “Creator of the
Earth' Ir-ta continued the work of his father and created the Eight
Primordials of Hermopolis, among whom of course we find Amun, who declares
himself to be the initial serpent, and Amonet. The genealogy is presented
as follows, in terms of four generations:
1. The serpent Kam-at-f, assimilated to Amun-Re of Karnak.
2. The serpent Ir-ta, assimilated to Min-Amun of Luxor. 3
3. The Eight Primordials, one of whom is Amun, who thus re-generates
himself
4. Solar child who comes forth from the lotus at Hermopolis, in other words
Re, product of the Eight Primordials,
assimilated to Amun.
What is interesting here is the similarity between the creation account in
the Mayan, Popol Vuh below and the example of an early Egyptian creation
account above. Both accounts refer to serpent as an original self created
god. Both were known as the “Feathered Serpent” or “Plumed Serpent”, both
created other primordial gods to help form and incubate the universe.
THIS IS THE ACCOUNT, here it is:
Now it still ripples, now it still murmurs, ripples, it still sighs, still
hums, and is empty under the sky.
Here follows the first words, the first eloquence:
There is not one person: one animal, bird, fish, crab, tree, rock hollow,
canyon, meadow, forest. Only the sky alone is there, the face of the earth
is not clear. Only the sea alone is pooled under all the sky, there is
nothing whatever gathered to-gether. It is at rest under the sky.
Whatever there is that might be is simply not there, only the pooled water,
only the calm sea, only it alone is pooled.
Whatever might be is simply not there: Only murmurs, ripples, in the dark,
in the night. Only the Maker Modeler alone, Sovereign Plumed Serpent, the
Bearers, Be-getters are in the water, a glittering light. They are there ,
they are enclosed in Quetzal feathers, in blue -green.
They are the great knowers, the great thinkers in their very being.
And of course, there is the sky, and there is the Heart of the Sky. This is
the name of the God as it is spoken.
And then came the word. He came here to the Sovereign Plumed Serpent, here
in the blackness, in the early dawn. He spoke with the Sovereign Plumed
Serpent, and they talked, then they thought, then they worried. They agreed
with each other, they joined their words, their thoughts. Then it was
clear, then they reached accord in the light, and then humanity was clear,
when they conceived the growth of life, of humankind, in the blackness, in
the early dawn, all because of the Heart of Sky, named Hurricane.
Thunderbolt Hurricane comes first, the second is Newborn Thunderbolt, and
the third is Raw Thunderbolt.
So, there were three of them, as Heart of Sky, who came to the Sovereign
Plumed Serpent, when the dawn of life was conceived.
“How should it be sown? how should it dawn? Who is to be the provider,
nurturer?”
“Let it be this way, think about it: This water should be removed, emptied
out for the formation of the earth’s own plate and platform, then comes the
sowing, the dawning of the sky-earth. But there will be no high days and no
bright praise for our work our design, until the rise of the human work the
human design,” they said.
And then! the earth arose because of them, it was simply their word that
brought it forth. For the forming of the earth they said “Earth.” It arose
suddenly, just like a cloud, just like a mist, now forming, unfolding. Then
the mountains were separated from the water, all of a sudden the great
mountains came forth.
By their genius alone, by their cutting edge alone they carried out the
conception of the mountain-plain, whose face grew instant groves of cypress
and pine”.
And Sacred Plumed Serpent was pleased with this.
“It was good that you came. Heart of Sky, Hurricane, and Newborn
Thunderbolt, Raw Thunderbolt, Our work, our design will turn out well.’’
They said.
And then the Earth was formed first, the mountain plain. The channels of
water were separated; their branches wound their way among the mountains.
The waters were divided when the great mountains appeared.
Such was the foundation of the earth when it was brought forth by the Heart
of Sky, Heart of Earth, as they are called, since they were the first to
think of it. The sky was set apart, and the earth was set apart in the
midst of the waters.” (POPUL VUH, Translation by Dennis Tedlock.)
It appears to this writer that the scarab crop glyph or KHEPHRI represents
a kaleidoscope of plumed serpent world wide and the worship the light
itself , The Sun.
