If seen as a cycle or sequence it seems to reflect the 19 year rhythm of the sun and the moon. Any day 19 years apart will show the sun and the moon in almost the same positions. This forms the base of the so called 'metonic cycle' which is a cycle of 5 eclipses in a row on the same day 19 years apart where the middle eclipse is total.
