(08/14/02) COLTS NECK MONMOUTH COUNTY - It looks like something
from a movie, but in this case, it's real. A huge crop circle has appeared
on a farm in Colts Neck.
This crop circle is about 150 yards long and about 75 yards wide. The
men who work the land said they find it very hard to believe that somebody
could have gone out to the field with a string and board and flattened the
crop to make the circle.
Meanwhile a Colts Neck Police officer said, "We're investigating all
possibilities."
News 12 New Jersey's Drew Speier reports that farmers in Colts
Neck say they'll keep closer watch on their fields, with one eye on the
ground and the other in the sky.
Colts neck crop circle baffles farmers
Unlike the motion picture "Signs" this is real. A crop circle appearing
on the Slope Brook Farm in Colts Neck. The question is...where did it come
from?
"Do you think the aliens are out?
Tom OrgoManager, Slope Brook Farms said, "No I don't think the aliens
are out....something happened but it's quite large."
Tom Orgo leases this farmland from Monmouth county. He grows rye in
this field which is used for mulch, bedding and for making hay. He says
the crop circle was formed on his farm as long as three weeks ago but
wasn't noticed until a few days ago.
This crop circle is about 150 yards long and about 75 yards wide. The
men who work this land say they find it very hard to believe that somebody
could have come out here with a string and board and flattened this out.
Maybe there's another technique.
Is there an all points bulletin out for the little green man or for
some young kids?
Colts Neck Police officer Frank Leccese said, "We're investigating all
possibilities."
As far as people from the area are concerned, they're not sure either.
Howell Township resident Yvonne Sperling said, "It's kinda strange,
Who do you think did it?
"Probably some locals, some kids, probably no green men, I don't think
so," Sperling said.
So the mystery continues. Meanwhile farmers in Colts Neck say they'll
keep closer watch on their fields, with one eye on the ground and the
other in the sky.
