Hill Barn: Finding
That Lovin’ Feelin’
Initially, this free-form crop circle at
Hill Barn, nr East Kennett,
Wiltshire. Reported 26th July.
puzzled me greatly which usually means that I have to look at it
more closely. Having done so, I began to notice the very
feminine quality it has: flowing movement and decorative
features. I also realized that it was reported July 26th,
the New Year Day of the 13 Moon Natural Time Calendar that José
Arguelles developed from the Mayan Calendar for use today. Then
it came to me–HAPPY NEW YEAR!! PARTY TIME!!
At Hill Barn, the two elongated forms when
seen as a whole could resemble the front and back view of some
sort of party type garb.
Besides this lighter point of view, we are
definitely faced here with significant evidence for supposing
this formation is related to the energy and workings of the
Feminine Principle.
The lozenge symbols are closely related to
the Vesica Pisces. Both symbolize fertility, creation, the Life
Matrix, the Feminine Creative Principle. We find in Cooper:
“…with a central point it [the lozenge] is the pudenda
mulieris.” (102)
If this association is not enough to bring
this formation under the aegis of the Feminine, it is also known
that the Aztec Water Goddess Chalchiuhtliucue is depicted with
lozenge forms on her skirt. Some depictions of her show a skirt
divided into two streams of water. Her garb is also decorated
with various circular shapes denoting the spots of the jaguar,
also associated with the Feminine. This description of the
Goddess can be discerned in the Hill Barn formation as well: two
streams of water-type lines, dots and lozenges as decoration. In
the case of the formation, the lozenge shapes look to be in the
places of chakra points (perhaps the throat (5th) and
the sexual (2nd) chakras when we see the
figure from the front like the hippie vest; the heart(4th)
and root(1st) chakras when we see from the
back, like the dress with the low-cut back.
Chalchiuhtlicue, wife/sister of Tlolac, Aztec
rain god
"She of the Jade Skirt", or "She whose
Night-robe of Jewel-stars Whirls Above", Lady of the
Maintenance, as Acuecucyoticihuati she is the goddess of
oceans, rivers and any other running water, but also a goddess
of birth and the patron of women in labor.” (azteccalendar)
Chalchiuhtlicue is also Goddess of love,
beauty, youth, baptism and storms. When she was displeased with
her husband’s abuse, she caused the Fourth World to be flooded,
but all who were faithful to her were saved when she built a
bridge between Heaven and Earth to establish the Fifth World
(the one we are now in). Those who were not faithful to her she
turned into fish so they would not drown. (Wikipedia) She used
water to purify creation.
To get back to the formation as a whole, it
is easily seen that symmetry and balance play very prominent
roles in the visual presentation, even though the two elongated
forms are not exactly the same (We have here a little less
stringent application of the laws of symmetry). The other point
is that the double or twin becomes significant when looking for
interpretation of this crop circle. In the imaginal realm of
dreaming, the double or twin image often implies something that
is close to becoming known–although still in the unconscious, it
is moving into consciousness.
The elongated symmetrical images are placed
in such a way as to suggest an hourglass, where the narrowest
space could be a passageway for the lozenge shape to pass.
Perhaps the image is showing us that it will pass safely, since
it reappears in a rebirth so to speak. The elongated
forms are depicted in such a way as to imitate some kind of
undulation or movement that might assist in pushing along the
carrier of the NEW (i.e. the lozenge/vesica).
A closer look at the strange giraffe-looking
shapes will give us more of an idea of the profound significance
of this formation. There are three associations at least for
these shapes: bird’s feet, the Nordic rune Algiz and the seal of
St. Michael. The three-branched symbol found on shaman’s cloaks
called the mark of the bustard (a bird), represents
“communication between the world of death and the world of
resurrection” (Nozedar 138). The bird itself symbolizes the
union between Earth and Heaven. The Nordic Rune, Algiz, also a
three-branched symbol, means “Protection”. When we see that St.
Michael’s seal includes a three-branched symbol, we could
surmise that perhaps this formation points to some kind of
change that could be dangerous, but that succeeds nevertheless
because it is taking place with the most guarded and safe
precautions surrounding it.

Bird’s foot symbol also resembles the symbol
for peace; St. Michael’s Seal with 3-branched emblem; Rune,
Algiz – Protection
Even though St. Michael’s seal has
right-angled prongs, I felt it fitting to include the
association with Him because, as is described in Manley Hall:
“archangels, and other celestial creatures….resemble small suns,
being centers of radiant energy surrounded by streamers of
Vrilic force.” (LI), the organic elongated forms could be seen
as streamers emanating from the three small discs in the middle
of each form.
In summary, we have the idea of balance and
new things emerging in the symmetrical design and the double
elements; the representation of the Feminine Principle in the
lozenge/vesica, the hourglass form, and the imaginative look of
party fashions; the ideas of protection and peacefulness with
the three-branched forms; and the possible implication of
movement, change, transition, implied in the death and
resurrection symbolism and the fact that Chalchiuhtlicue is the
patroness of birth. It is, all in all, a very positive message
we are getting from this playful crop formation and we would be
smart to follow the flow of change and movement to a new way of
living in a joyful mode. The two sets of three discs at the
waist of the image could signify the Sixth World that we are
now entering. The lozenge also means success, victory, and
happiness in the Chinese tradition.

Here is an interesting explanation of the
return to the Feminine Principle related by Drunvalo
Melchizedek:
“The Precession of the Equinox [is]
about to enter a new 13,000 years cycle, this time led by the
female wisdom that all women have held within a small secret
chamber within their beautiful female hearts. Without this
unconditional love, humanity would be lost to the mental
constraints that men have built to protect us over the last
13,000 years. This protection was needed in the past, but now it
is our greatest hindrance to survival, to the expansion of our
consciousness, and to the ascension of the human race into a new
world of light.
Thank God for the female heart. It has
always been this way. The men protect us as we enter the dark
part of the cycle, and the women lead us back into the light as
the Grand Cycle returns toward the center of the galaxy.” (165)
