Reported May 4 2009.

This Pictogram was discovered from the air in the early morning of May 4 2009. It is not viewable from any position in the local landscape. During the night of the creation of the glyph there was moderate rainfall in the local area.

The Glyph measures approximately 800 feet in length and around 250 feet wide. The crop is around 5 feel high. Further, the formation stretches over the crest of the hill at the top of the field, making any direct full length sight line out of the question.

More or less all the laid rape-seed plants in the formation were noted as broken and / or severely damaged at the base of the stems. Also much severe bruising was well evident on the laid plants. Some of this damage to the plants can be seen in the ground shots on this page. Most notably this damage shows as dark strips that run down the centres of the narrow avenues in the formation.

All damage to this formation looked systematic and intentional, and did not convey the appearance of standard regular hoaxing activity.

According to a very qualified and certificated tracker that was present during the inspection "the visible damage to the plants must have occurred between 5 and 6 hours prior to our inspection". This damage therefore must have occurred between 6am and 7am on May 4.

A small key-ring torch and a sweet wrapper were found "placed" in the circle during our late morning inspection of the site, Neither the paper wrapper nor the torch had been exposed to the night rain or early dawn dew, therefore it is very probable that they were inserted later in the morning. This could be considered at best extremely curious!.

Soon after entering the formation in the early afternoon of the 4th May, It's breathtaking and record size became apparent, with the help of a camera on a pole.

Many of the centres were show pieces, spiralled with folded bunches (pictured) and weren't short on energy either, I found the 'crop communication' to be full of energy with more than a few energetic points distinctively warm.

To my delight I came across four single lines/rectangles which were clearly undisturbed at the time of my visit. Similar to the decimal points at the 'Pie' formation of Barbury castle, you can plainly see no physical impressions to indicate human presence anywhere near them.

Plenty of the crop was broken at the base (possibly due to the age/agility of the crop) however, it was beautifully laid. Some clearly bent and unmarked stems were found (pictured).

Also notable, around the large centre circle at the bottom (north-side) of the field, the outer circle was not completely flattened to the ground but left resting (almost in drifts) at an almost 45 degree angle to the outer wall of crop (pictured).

Field Report:

Crop formation at Clatford Nr. Manton Wiltshire 4th May 2009

The biggest formation of the year by far. This giant of a formation is approx quarter of a mile long. Standing at the edge of the field - Manton or Clatford side - you can not see it from either end of the field. Approx 50 meters into the field from Clatford side, the formation becomes visible. As always the perfection is clearly visible throughout the entire formation with swirls and twists everywhere you look. The characteristics what we are familiar with are present in every nook and cranny of the formation A clear construction line is also visible with plants showing a parting left to right as if something came through the centre forcing the plant to collapse in opposite directions. (see photo). When standing at any point within - you can only see the nearest design - the rest is not visible at all. There was also quite a bit of damage in certain places - but if you look at the photo of the larger circle you can clearly see that the farmer had driven through it. The photos also show the formation slightly twisted, this is due to undulating land. As we arrived late we had little time to take day light pictures, hence some of the images are very dark, but I hope you can still clearly see the impression in the plant. As night time was creeping in fast there was an eerie feeling of  being watched. As I raised the camera pole  to take the last few shots an ORB appeared out of the nowhere and appeared to hover just above the plants ( see photos ). This ORB disappeared and reappeared once again approx 15 minutes later along the tramline. Quite extraordinary to think what these things might be doing - are they looking for our reaction, listening, watching and cataloguing the event - we can only guess!!

Sadly the ORBS where not the only thing watching us! As we made our way back to my car - a very angry farmer who arrived with screeching tyres, nearly hitting the back of my car, stepped out of his truck with raised fists and full of abuse and started to thump my car with his fists.  We stuck to all the guide lines of conduct and offered our apology in a courteous manner and left. So in this instance:

So, I entered Manton on Sat 9~5~9, arriving at the top circle that lies between 2 tramlines, the inner standing wall of crop showed no evidence of previous entry / exit, even though’ I am a petite person and tread carefully, the crop shows disturbance of where I have been. As per previous report, some folks may find strange, an apparent purposely laid 'gift' small flat seashell in the centre swirl of this particular piece of the formation.

Rather than sending a full field report, as there are already plenty, I concentrated on the centre pieces of each circle. As I have mentioned previously, most are off centre.

Something shown with greater clarity within the Braydon Glyph imagery which has subsequently followed.

Attached are a sample of images taken of the centre pieces themselves, of which no two appear to be the same, including a ‘splayed out, a high standing weave, a low weave, 1 bent standing, 1 straight tall standing, another parting east to west, etc.

Experimenting with entering the formation from different tramlines, I got the impression that each circle / part was formed independently, it was like going into a totally separate crop glyph each time.
This formation affected me physically, starting off with an intense adrenaline rush, electric shocks in my feet and spreading throughout my body, after walking around a while I was hit by an immense lethargy, although the sun wasn’t shining, the light was too bright for my eyes, indeed, it took a while to gather myself afterwards, before I attempted to drive.

Whilst speaking with another croppie in the glyph, she also experienced the same feelings. My camera though’ fully charged, stopped working, as did another persons, simultaneously.

Manton Formation

Even though this formation was six days old when we visited it yesterday there was strong dowsable energy present in all areas flowing with the lay of the crop. Obviously many people have been in here and paths have been trodden throughout the formation.
