Reconstruction of the
2007 Wilton Water Grid formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Copy circle 1 to its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

3. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 2 at the righthand side.

4. Construct the inscribed octagon (regular 8-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing to the right.

5. Create the inscribed octagram (regular 8-pointed star) of circle 1, by drawing eight diagonals of octagon 4, connecting every angular point with every third one, as shown.

6. Construct the inscribed circle of the octagon enclosed by octagram 5, as shown.

7. Construct a circle centered at the rightmost angular point of octagon 4, passing through both adjacent angular points.

8. Copy circle 7 seven times, to all other angular points of octagon 4.

9. Construct a "two-points" circle, defined by the end-points of a centerline, with the points at the righthand intersections of circles 7 and 3 with the horizontal centerline.

10. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the center of circle 9.

11. Construct a circle concentric to circle 7, tangent to circle 10 at the righthand side.

12. Copy circle 11 seven times, to the centers of circles 8.

13. Construct a circle concentric to circle 7, passing through the righthand intersection of the two rightmost circles 12.

14. Copy circle 13 seven times, to the centers of circles 8.

15. Circles 1, 3, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 are used for the final reconstruction.

16. Remove everything that is not visible in the formation itself.

17. Colouring all areas with standing...

18. ...or with flattened crop, finishes the reconstruction of the 2007 Wilton Water Grid formation.

19. The final result, matched with the aerial image.
