Reconstruction of the
2005 Aldbourne (2) formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Copy circle 1 eight times, the first to its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline, the second to the corresponding intersection of the first, and so on (creating a series of Vesica Pisces-patterns).

3. Construct eight circles, all concentric to circle 1, each tangent to a consecutive circle 2, all at the righthand sides.

4. Copy circle 1 to the righthand intersection of the rightmost circle 2 and the horizontal centerline.

5. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 4 at the righthand side.

6. Copy circle 1 three times, the first to the righthand intersection of circle 4 and the horizontal centerline, the second to the corresponding intersection of the first, and so on.

7. Construct three circles, all concentric to circle 1, each tangent to a consecutive circle 6, all at the righthand sides.

8. Construct the circumscribed square of circle 5, the sides horizontally and vertically oriented.

9. Construct the circumscribed circle of square 8.

10. Construct nineteen horizontal lines between both vertical sides of square 8, one through the center of circle 1, the others tangent to circle 1 and consecutive circles 3, all at the upper and lower sides.

11. Circles 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9, square 8, and lines 10, together, form the necessary constituents for the final reconstruction.

12. Remove parts from circles 7, which do not show up within the formation itself.

13. Colour all areas corresponding to standing...

14. ...or to flattened crop, to finish the reconstruction of the 2005 Aldbourne (2) formation.

15. The final result, matched with the aerial image.
