CROP CIRCLES IN 2000

We send you as attachment two photographs that we took from the first formation of the Silbury Hill Shape-shifter crop circle.

When we entered the crop circle first in the morning of 2nd June we almost didn't dare to step on the crop because we were the first ones to be in the
circle except the farmer's son and his dog. This experience was very strong for us.

When we were in the circle for at least half an hour we saw a big helicopter circling above the field. Exactly 12 hours before that time we had been
standing in the stone circle of Avebury. What a coincidence (if such exists!).

This popular circle location has once again been the target for a sizable geometric crop circle that has a rather familiar flavour to it.

The formation consists of two hexagons of standing crop that fit together to make a twelve pointed star. The points of the star are detached from the main body by slender incisions, these pathways make up the sides of the double hexagon. Sitting inside the central shape there is a large equilateral
triangle extending to the edges of the central area of standing crop. The paths that make up the triangle are (approx) four feet in width. The whole formation sits in a circle (approx) 200ft in diameter with the points of the star stopping 2ft short of the formation perimeter. On the whole the mathematics of the formation look good.

As we stepped into the glyph we were struck by the sheer incoherent mess of the floor, it's all over the place, in my years of crop circle research I have never seen such a mess on the floor of a crop formation. Even the work of the usual jokers ( Team err umm) looks professional in comparison. No known hoaxing methodology that I am aware of could create what we see in this formation. with this in mind I feel another explanation is needed.

My impression is that this is a genuine event that has been trashed & wrecked on purpose to give the hoax impression, for most people the messy floor would be enough to conclude that this one is indeed an obvious hoax, what I have seen of this formation suggests to me that it is the real deal, in part because such a huge mess could not be created by the usual method of corn stomping used by known jokers. This formation looks much more like it has been kicked to death by a herd of cows or even worse, an all night party!

The treatment this formation has received seems, I feel , a little sinister.

From the air I think this glyph will be rather attractive, a good deal more so than from the ground at least.

Additions & remodeling of West Kennet Long Barrow formation. Reported 3/6/00

What was a trashed & defaced formation, last night received a full body makeover by the crop circle makers. The bulk of the crop that made up the twelve pointer has now been put down, leaving a far more complex and interesting pattern than was there the previous day. This time the crop lay is as expected with a quality formation, even the barley that had been smashed and kicked about yesterday has been combed to a quite tidy finish in keeping with the new parts of the formation. It was rather a surprise to see such a pleasing formation develop out of such a defaced and vandalized mess.

The main changes have taken place inside the large equilateral triangle, this whole section has been divided up into nine smaller equilateral triangles (three standing & six down) which creates a very nice & balanced central section to the formation.

These new features have added hugely to the overall quality of this glyph, turning a hell of a mess into a geometrically coherent whole. Like it..

Anomalous lights seen over Silbury Hill & West Kennet long barrow area. Reported 1-2/6/00

On the night (1-2/6/00) that saw the arrival of the initial embryonic version of the twelve pointed star next to West Kennet long barrow the whole of the area was under constant surveillance by Frances Mallett (C & F) and a good friend of ours from Devon.

Frances reports that the night sky had a very dense cloud cover making it an extremely dark night indeed. It was just possible to make out the imposing profile of Silbury Hill from their vantage point at the car park over the road from the Sanctuary on Overton hill.

At (approx) 11-30pm Frances and Nickie both noticed a ball of deep yellow light hanging in the sky at (approx) 200ft directly over Silbury hill. This light was so large & bright it grabbed their attention immediately as it blinked on, it remained in it's stationary position for several seconds before blinking out as instantaneously as it had arrived. After a few moments the same ball of light reappeared in its original position over the hill, after a
further few seconds it disappeared in the same manner as it's exit a few moments earlier. This time as the light went out it reappeared instantly (approx) 50-70 meters to the left of its original position. Once again the light blinked out and almost immediately took up a new position even further to the left of Silbury, this is (approx) where the twelve pointer was found the following morning. The luminous sphere remained in this position for just a few seconds before blinking out for the final time.

The whole event lasted no longer than a minute.

At no time did either of the witnesses observe any actual linear movement of the light or lights. At the time of writing the above events remain completely anomalous. We both feel that these lights may well be very much connected with the arrival of the Shapeshifter crop formation.

Frances is a very sharp eyed observer of the night sky in our area and is very familiar with all conventional aerial activity.

I do not know if you folks now but there is a large crop circle at kennet longbarrow and it looks interesting due to the position of the centre of the design and the fact that there is no sign of the centre point so that's a good point to make on this one. The design is nice and neat and is a 12 pointed star with a triangle in the centre and a thin circle surrounding the design. The floor lay was tidy as too are the walls.

(Note: Dr Jon Sherwood visited the formation between noon to 3pm on Friday 2nd June afternoon and states that the formation was neat and the floor lay was tidy)
