ITALIAN CROP CIRCLES IN 2005

This afternoon (3rd July 2005) for the first time I witnessed a crop circle!! In the last days local newspapers have been reporting some images and angry farmers stories about a number of spots in the Ascoli Piceno area, Le Marche region, central Italy: too late for me to go to the place and have a look at the jobs: rushed harvests were reported in the articles as well. But today when I arrived, the last crop circle reported was still there. Pictures were taken on the main road leading to Offida town. It is likely to be "Man Made".

Hello, this night in Italy, in the small city of Morrovalle, appeared a crop circle, just at 2 minutes of car from my home, it seems that there are no signs of human activity around, I took some picture with my digital camera at around 9am, after some time already there were journalists around. Let me know if you need pictures and more details on the place.

I don't know if the crop circle is fake or real, but I can tell you that there were no visible signs around it of human activity, no holes, no walking trails (when we walked there we left a trail of bent vegetation through the field and there was no trail around the formation).

The formation is beside a street that usually is very popular because it connects the highway to some local towns and especially in the morning, noon and evening is full or cars. You can see in the file map02.gif the location (red arrow) relative to the whole Italy, and in the file map01.gif the exact point (red X) where is the crop circle, the orange street SS77 is the highway, and the street SP86 is where you can admire the crop circle.

From that road you have a cultivated field, then a small river, but deep and filled with stinging nettles, and past the river there is another field where the formation is, you can see all that by the pictures.

This place is not easily accessible even from the other side since there are private properties with fencings and also companies. My friend is tall around 77 inches (around 190cm), and in one picture he is in the middle of the circle, so you can guess the total size. The ground in this side is bent, curved, so wouldn't be so easy to use ropes and take measures. The 4 smaller circles seems facing the direction north, south, east and west, but no sure completely sure about it. The borders of the

circles are very sharp and accurate.

This area is between many things such military bases, important radars, and also places like Sibillini Mountains which are covered by many legends from the ancient past, and where happened sightings of lighting globes, similar to the Hessdalen lights.

Anyway I guess soon there will be also official articles because after we finished the picture and was going away we saw journalists and police too.

Also, some days ago another crop circle appeared here in another small city, called Montegranaro,that is at 15km far from Morrovalle, so maybe other will come in the next days?

Today, 4th June, I paid a short visit to the famous field in Ranzano to check the second crop circle after the one in 2003. In fact, thanks to the indication of Rudy Bressan, I could find another circle in front of the shrine of Saint Anthony. It was rather late, so there was just the time to take a couple of pictures and to talk to some 4 nice young people. In the meantime I saw also the owner of the field with his coming, whom I had already known two years ago. And here the story becomes interesting. The lady told us that on Wednesday, 1st June, at about 11.30 in the morning, she had come to the field to light a candle for the Saint. While she was still standing in front of the shrine, turning her back to the field, she perceived the reflection of a strong light, like a flash. She turned around and saw the formation you can see on the photo. She hurried towards the crop circle, which is about 50 metres from the shrine, and as she approached it, she saw two balls of light rising quickly towards the sky. They were not very large, approximately 12 cm in diameter and rather rose-coloured. She told me that during the last two years she had had experiences with other mysterious phenomena which had been observed also by other people. This brief summary so far; we're waiting for further investigation.
