Reconstruction of the
2007 White Horse Milk Hill formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed hexagon (regular 6-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up.

3. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 1, pointing down.

4. Construct the circumscribed dodecagon (regular 12-sided polygon) of circle 1, with the mid-point of a side on the horizontal centerline, as shown.

5. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline, passing through adjacent angular points of dodecagon 4.

6. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 5 at the lefthand side.

7. Construct a circle centered at the lower angular point of triangle 3, passing through the lower intersections of circle 6 and triangle 3.

8. Copy circle 7 two times, to the other angular points of triangle 3.

9. Copy circle 7 another time, to the top of hexagon 2.

10. Construct the circumscribed circle of dodecagon 4.

11. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 10 at the righthand side.

12. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 11 at the lefthand side.

13. Copy circle 11 to its own righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

14. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 13 at the righthand side.

15. Copy circle 11 to the lower intersection of circle 9 and the vertical centerline.

16. Construct a circle concentric to circle 9, tangent to circle 15 at the lower side.

17. Copy circle 11 to the lower intersection of circle 15 and the vertical centerline.

18. Construct a circle concentric to circle 9, tangent to circle 17 at the lower side.

19. Copy circles 16 and 18 three times, to the centers of circles 7 and 8.

20. Construct a circle centered at the intersection of the righthand side of hexagon 2 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 12 at the righthand side.

21. Copy circle 20 to the center of circle 9.

22. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 21 at the upper side.

23. Copy circle 20 to the lower intersection of circle 9 and the vertical centerline.

24. Construct a circle concentric to circle 9, tangent to circle 23 at the lower side.

25. Copy circle 20 to the righthand intersection of circles 22 and 24.

26. Construct two circles concentric to circle 25, tangent to circles 10 and 12, both at the nearest sides.

27. Copy circles 25 and 26, while mirroring them, relative to the vertical centerline.

28. Repeat steps 25, 26 and 27 three times, with respect to circles 7 and 8, with corresponding relative orientations, as shown.

29. Construct a circle, tangent to circle 25 at the righthand side, tangent to its closest corresponding circle 28 at the lefthand side, and tangent to circle 10 at the nearest side, as shown.

30. Construct two circles concentric to circle 29, tangent to circles 1 and 12, both at the nearest sides.

31. Copy circles 29 and 30, while mirroring them, relative to the vertical centerline.

32. Only circles 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31, hexagon 2 and triangle 3 are needed for the final reconstruction.

33. Remove all parts not present within the formation itself.

34. Colour all areas with standing...

35. ...or with flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2007 White Horse Milk Hill formation.

36. The final result, matched with the aerial image.
