I got a tip off last night from Nick, who got a tip
off from Charlie, who got a tip off from a lady that visited the
Silent Circle Cafe this week and claimed she had been in a formation
in Cess Road off the B1152, Martham, Norfolk.
I went out tonight to take a look. There is indeed
a formation of about 150 foot in a field of wheat. I tracked down the
land owner at nearby Clarke's Farm. The lady I spoke to didn't seem
too enthused at the prospect of croppies descending on their fields
but nevertheless did invite me to call back tomorrow to ask her
son. Call me paranoid but I get the feeling if I go back I might be
greeted with a 12 bore. Not wanting to give up, I returned to the area and
found the field was bordered by a public foot path. There is evidence
that the formation has already been frequented on a number of
occasions with a line visible through the wheat straying from the
footpath. These are the best images I could get from the
footpath. Without permission the best I can offer is to return at the
weekend and try and get some pole shots from the footpath.
As far as I can see, the formation straddles three
sets of tramlines. It consists of an outer circle with a large square
in the middle, with thickish lines coming off two of the corners. It
is fair to say it is probably a good 7-10 days old. Quite exciting
for sleepy Norfolk though! It's a pity we don't have any hills.
UPDATE
We returned to the Cess Road formation last
night. Here are a few pole shots from the footpath. It actually
has much more detail and is probably a hexagon rather than a
square centre. Maybe with some stretching wizardry you might get a
better idea.
We will go back tonight because there is another
two sizeable formations in Somerton and Martham itself. It got too
dark to get any good shots but they are of the same proportion as
Cess Road. I have included a poor shot of the Somerton formation
but we can get a lot closer to this. It looks like a couple of
arrows. The formation in Martham on first inspection may be a
plutoneum symbol.
This is a formation in a field of barely. Somerton is located on the
B1159 in Martham Norfolk.
