On 3rd
May I was asked to check out a possible crop circle in this area by
Mark Fussell.
I spent about 5 hours combing the location and asked a couple of farm
workers too but could find nothing. I suspected that the circle might
be the same one as reported previously in April on another hill (The
Gotham Galaxies)
coordinates were awry? Well, seems that it was me that was mistaken
there IS a spiral crop circle at this location. This formation is
impossible to see from the ground anywhere. I can't say that it looked
very impressive, and certainly it looks messy. Does this point to
plankers who are as equally inept at their art as my search
appears to have been? (Mind you they'd gain full marks for concealing
their work.) Or could it be that the formation has been down for a
long time and has become more ragged over time with the high winds and
rain etc, not to mention the crop's subsequent growth? Another
possibility is did the circle appear after the report, and thus
hurried? - just a thought. Earlier today, and quite by chance, I was
given the names of 3 people who are making circles in Wiltshire, my
source didn't say whether they were also 'at it' in Oxfordshire, but
as at least one of them lives in this county, so what do you reckon?
As I
have noted previously crop circles in this part of the country seem to
be located near oak trees; this one being no exception.
Now that
we have an aerial confirmation a ground report is now required and
this will hopefully yield some further details.
