Luthrie, FIFE, SCOTLAND
A
large formation appeared on Sunday 14th August 2005 in a field
of wheat approximately 1 mile due east of the small village of Luthrie in
North East Fife, Scotland. This area of Scotland is gaining a large
amount of interest due to reported U.F.O. activity. The field lies
parallel with the A92 which is the main artery link between Kirkcaldy and
Dundee.
Also
of interest is the formation’s proximity approximately one and a half miles
due north of Lordscairnie Castle. This is a 15th Century
Castle. It’s builder and designer was the then Lord Cairnie who, at the
time, had developed a reputation for ruthlessness and, if tradition is to
be believed, was of “the diel’s persuasion” (diel being devil) and he held
the surrounding country in a grip of terror.
North
East Fife has been in the news lately in relation to the planting of
genetically engineered crop i.e. oilseed rape. There have been large
public protests which resulted in police involvement with the demonstrators
who were deliberately destroying crop.
The
formation appears to consist of a large circle with three smaller ones
adjoining. The three circles appear to have tails which is intriguing.
It is visible from the Lordscairnie road which joins the A92 almost
immediately opposite the formation.
The web is trying to arrange aerials and information on dimensions
and access. This is altogether a most unusual event in Scotland and is
doubly intriguing when taken in relation to the locality’s history.
