This report is dated 13-07-1995 and was submitted by Stuart Dike In my opinion, this formation is one of the best of this year. The central part is made up of seven concentric rings around a small circle in the middle. Surrounding the rings is a beautiful half-moon design. It is similar to the "Astrograms" near Winchester. The half-moon shapes flow into each other making a necklace, which does not quite connect to make an entire ring. The lay is extremely impressive, with many standing stems visible, and it has the feeling of water flowing around the necklace. The atmosphere inside the formation was as restful as a church as it was quite a contrast to the rushing traffic on the A34. The central rings were all flowing clockwise including the middle circle. The location was not really suitable for this formation, because of the angle it was placed in the field, and the fact that you could not really take a decent shot from the road. The best location to view it is from the bridge that crosses the A34. The formation can be seen before the turning off the A34 heading North. |
