A formation @ Milk Hill nr Alton Barnes, Wiltshire.
Reported 1/7/00 (Wheat)
Spread out in the wheat, just below our local white horse at
Alton Barnes lies a beautiful six-fold flower design of quite
considerable elegance.
The formation is situated in almost exactly the same spot as the 1997 fractal snowflake glyph, give or take a few yards. As
far as picturesque scenery & location are concerned, this is as good as it gets. From the top of Milk Hill one has a quite
stunning view of the formation set in a landscape that leaves me in awe on my every visit.
This crop circle consists of a six petal flower design within a circle of downed crop. The whole thing is framed by a ring just
a few feet out from the perimeter of the main formation. (overall diameter 201ft) Between the large petals that extend almost
to the edge of the inner downed circle are six additional shorter petals that give added body to an otherwise quite
simplistic design.
The lay of the wheat around the flower and throughout the
whole formation was clean & precise. In some areas we came across junctions in the lay that were very tightly woven
and bound into knot style twists, quite impressive. At the very centre of the formation where the construction circles cross,
there were seven stalks that had been left standing in a rather delicate little bunch.
Overall this is a very attractive & well-crafted crop circle with a sharp edged finish.
