C & F Phenomenon Research Field Report
A formation @ East field, Alton Barnes, Wiltshire. Reported 20/5/00 Barley
UPDATE & Overview
After a period of reflection regarding the above formation I feel a few additional comments and points are worth a mention, not least the fact that on the night of the formations arrival the weather was, to say the least, rather terrible. There was moderate to heavy rain from 8pm through most of the night, this left the field in a completely saturated state. Can you imagine a team of people out there in those conditions stomping in the mud and barley all night, I can't. I can only guess that the people who claim this one have not only perfected crop circle hoaxing, they also seem to be able to levitate at will to avoid getting mud all over the floor of the glyph, hmmm. In the past I have visited new formations at first light when it had been wet the previous night, what one finds is that by the time you are in the formation you are dragging several pounds of top soil around on your boots leaving big obvious prints all over the lace, how could four or five people leave no trace whatsoever in conditions such as the aforementioned. No doubt, this formation will be claimed by at least one team of jokers, the sad thing is most people who have not seen the evidence for themselves will believe them which in turn will leave the jokers egos operating on an even higher frequency which encourages them to make even more far out claims as the season goes on. No Jokers made this one, that I am quite sure of. On the whole this is a fine quality crop circle with some very clever attributes, in fact this level of sophistication is what one would expect much later in the season. It was quite a shame that this one was wrecked by the weather so quickly & comprehensively. Charles R Mallett
We have just visited what is , no doubt the best formation of the season so far. Once again the famous hot spot East field
has been the target for a major event. Update to follow Diagrams Frances Mallett Copyright 2000 |
