INTERNATIONAL CROP CIRCLES OF 1999

Cottonwood Canyon, nr Walla Walla, Washington. North America. Reported 30th July.

Updated  Wednesday 4th August 1999

UPDATE #1

I received more info on the Walla Walla circle, but NO DETAILS YET, I still don't know the farmers name, who reported it by name, exactly where the circle is, whether it is in Wash. or Ore., when it was found, how big it is or if it was diagramed. Am trying to find out.

What I do know is via Ray Crowe as follows:

The person who went into it says it is in bearded wheat, flat bended about 2" from the ground, except in the middle. The center there winds tightly, "like a cowlick". Photos of ground lays were taken. The wheat goes one direction on the outside, changes direction on the inside in 4" to 5" bands. The wheat lay is swirled and the circle in very pristine condition (even though the field was cut). Where the combine did not reach the heads were not broken off at all. There were six different circles, one with a circle in the circle and 4 radiating arms, three to the south and the longest one slightly bent and the bottom one to the west,  they were radiating from the biggest double circle. It was dowsed. Photo in local newspaper.

Hope to know more later. This is the first report this year from the Pacific Northwest.

I am passing on a report of a crop circle formation from a Walla Walla, Washington contact of Ray Crowe, who says there was a crop circle at the base of Cottonwood Canyon (do not know if this is Oregon or Washington).  The farmer took photos of it, then cut the field, then sent in the photos to the newspaper. Photos printed in the Union Bulletin and I have not seen them yet. I think this modus operendi is an interesting way to protect his property from viewers. Will send on more when I receive more information. As of now this is the first crop circle reported that I know of from the Pacific Northwest USA this year.

We have had a crop circle formation here in Walla Walla Washington. I have had the good fortune of being able to spend time
looking closely at it, and take samples of it. Unfortunately, it was cut before I saw it. But there is a lot to see nevertheless. I dowsed it, and it dowsed to the centres of the circles and also to the outer edges. There were 6 circles in all.(with 4 "arms", three together and one at the bottom. The bottom was pointed west. The wheat is bent in two places. About 2-3 " from the ground, and again at the last joint before the wheat head, upward. The wheat goes clockwise on the outside and counterclockwise on the inside. I wanted to get a root sample, but the ground was like a brick! I am going back up today with a pointed trowel to get some! I spent 2 hours in it the first time, and got very disoriented, but I think it was sunstroke! :-)) Also my lab (dog) didn't like it and sat in the back of my truck while I was there! The farmer is going to disc it up on Monday.   He had to replace the fuel filter on the combine after cutting it. The
right side of the field is the Oregon/Washington border.
