Dear Mark & Stuart,

July 17, 1997

Sorry it took about a week to update you guys, but I have been out every day scanning the fields. Here is a list of the Michigan and Ohio sites that we've seen in the past week. Ill get you a list of the Indiana sites as soon as I compile one. I have just a stack of photos of all these sites, but I'm only going to send a few right now -- I have only gotten back three rolls so far, most of my slides haven't come back yet.

So far we've taken our standard set of 5 readings in only a few fields (its all we've had time for), but the readings have come back essentially the same: no changes in the Radio or Microwave; 2 1/2-3 times the radiation level (CPM) inside these sites as compared to readings taken outside; 5 times the electric field strength (in Volts per meter); and about 7 times the magnetic field strength (in microteslas). As soon as things calm down around here, we will send you all the data.

I have to stress that these sites, although not geometric in shape, ARE part of the same phenomenon that we know of as crop circles. The randomness seems to be caused by the energy involved moving too quickly to form a pattern. What I mean by this is it looks to us like the energy skipped across the fields, downing the crop in swirls, pathways, multi-layering, braiding, and all the things you see in regular crop circles, but also more! We've seen areas that look as if they have been parted with a comb, vast areas of fields that flow in numerous directions, and small areas that can have up to 7-8 tiny pathways each flowing in a completely different direction. The hallmarks of genuine circles are found too: nearly all the stalks have blown nodes, and bent nodes (of up to 90 degrees!) all without any damage to the wheat. In many U.S.A.. fields, there are no tramlines, and there are no tracks leading into any of these areas. In several of the fields, it looked to us for all the world like a formation almost formed, but the energy just moved too fast.

What I have found so far, is that we just cant cover all the fields. We don't have enough sets of eyes or people out there looking. But in those that we have seen, we have noticed a regular pattern. We can now almost predict exactly where we will find one. In all the fields where these events have occurred (except 2) we have found powerlines very nearby (usually within 20 feet, some right around the pole), many of them with transformer boxes on the closest pole, or very near the high tension variety. Also, we've found that in the vast majority of these sites, the areas downed were at the lowest point of the field, or on the downslope of a hill. Thirdly, in the vast majority of these sites, all were within a stones throw from a creek, a pond, a lake, or a drainage ditch. It is important to note that we went by dozens and dozens of fields in the same vicinity that had none of the above characteristics, and they had no downed areas. In the two fields that we saw in which powerlines were not in close proximity, the closest powerlines went into the ground in the direction of the downed areas (both cases). All of the sites in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio conformed to this pattern. Even the geometric circle sites that we found last year in these states had the same characteristics.

I will be sending you more data and analysis as soon as we sit down and review it, in the meantime, here is a list of the confirmed sites for Michigan and Ohio (as of today):

MICHIGAN sites (all Wheat; all randomly-downed crop events; all with blown nodes, and severely bent growth nodes; Observers: Jeffrey Wilson, Jason Braden, Heather Tarvis )

Clinton: on US-12 near Lima Center Rd. *near powerlines Benton:

(a) on US-12 near Schill

(b) on US-12 near Schill *All ran parallel with powerlines, all on

(c) on US-12 near Schill downslope of a hill; B near a ground

(d) on US-12 near Schill transformer Saline:

(a) on US-12 near Dill *under high tension lines, lowest spot of the field

(b) on US-12 near Marion *near powerlines Pittsfield: on US-12 near Fosdick Rd. * downed area completely envelops power line pole; at the very bottom of a hill Salem:

(a) Curtis Rd. * underneath double high tension lines, other powerlines run through the field, ; creek nearby. MAJOR formation, much of the field is down! Area downed runs length of the field from one set of high tension towers to another; area downed includes many spiralled areas, parts dividing the wheat, multilayering, and wheat flowing around a lone walnut tree in the centre of the field. E-M and Radiation sampling done.

(b) Tower Rd. * High tension lines few hundred feet away, creek a few feet away; area downed a few feet from a house

(c) 2nd Tower Rd. *directly west of Coventry Station (major/main relay power grid station for Detroit Edison Electric Co.) in green wheat; directly under double high tension power lines

(d) Dixboro Rd. * 100 yds. south of double high tension power lines, small creek ran through the field, all downed areas were on downslopes of hill

(e) 2nd Dixboro * area downed next to a small drainage area, at top of the hill next to treeline; very nearby, but across the street is a power pole with a strangely hooked-up transformer on pole

(f) Joy Rd. (near Dixboro) * area downed on downslope of hill; area flowed out of field to the side of the road; had power pole with double transformer within feet

Northfield Township:

(a) corner of Earhart & Pontiac Trail * Double high tension lines very nearby; east side of field has normal powerlines; drainage creek through field, areas downed in the lowest points of the field

(b) Pontiac Trail, 3/10ths E. of Sutton * directly under power lines

(c) field at corner of Sutton & Northfield Church Rd. *MAJOR areas downed all in the lowest areas of the field; there were straight paths down along the lowest points of the field; across the street from St. Johns Lutheran Church (1874) & Cemetery; Double high tension power lines few hundred feet from edge of field, regular power lines along edge of field

(d) 2nd Northfield Church Rd. * north side of road, under power lines

(e) 3rd Northfield Church Rd. * 1/2 miles. west of previous; on north side under power lines

(f) corner of Sutton & North Territorial Road * downed area right along power lines/where power lines go underground

(g) several hundred feet from Earhart on Northfield Church * small area downed, near powerlines

(h) same field as above, along Earhart (more downed)

(i) Nollar Rd 2/10ths miles. north of Joy Rd. * High Tension lines 100 yds. to the north

(j) 2nd Nollar Rd. 100 yds. north of high tension lines *MAJOR areas downed! Normal powerlines intersect in centre of downed area; clearly defined downed area, pressed flat - though with single standing stalks - crosses 2 different varieties of wheat, most of area downed in-between two barns, right up to edge of buildings & spills out into the road. FARMER DOES NOT WANT ANYONE TO ENTER THIS FIELD. Plymouth Township/ Northville:

(a) Beck Rd. (between 5 & 6 Mile Rd.) * 5 sections downed along treeline; powerlines 30-40 ft. away - closest pole has transformer; downed area in low spot of the field

(b) 2nd Beck Rd. * same field, centre of field; bottom of hill near swampy area with tree island; MAJOR sections downed -- at least a football fields length; 4 nearby power line poles (all with transformers, 1 with triple)

(c) 3rd Beck Rd. * same field, north edge along tree line; 4-5 sections downed; downslope of hill, nearest power pole has transformer

(d) Six Mile Rd. (near Beck) * at least 10 areas downed - running parallel to power lines only 10 ft. away, downslope of hill Dundee: near exit 17 off US-23 * river nearby, powerlines along edge of field Kalamazoo: east side of 131, just north of Kalamazoo Ann Arbor Township: Gleaner Hall Rd. & Warren * High tension powerlines running through field; many areas downed horizontal along the treeline, spots downed under HT lines Pontiac Trail & Nixon * powerlines edge field, all areas downed on downslope of hill OHIO Sites (all wheat fields, Observer: Jason Braden) Wakeman: on 303 just past 60 *bottom of field, pond Monroeville: on 20 *power lines, Huron River Bellevue: on 20 *power lines, drainage ditch, Seneca Caverns to the south Clyde: on 20 * power lines Hessville:

(a) on 20 * power lines, small creek

(b) 1 mile east of junction 20 and 300 * power lines; Sugar Creek nearby Lemoyne: on 20 * power lines, pond Lime City: on 20 * power lines

That's the list for Michigan and Ohio, I'll probably send out the Indiana list in a day or so. Altogether, for the last week, we have seen well over 50 sites (separate fields) with many fields having multiple areas downed. I know you guys are busy too, but you're doing a fantastic job! Keep up the great work!

Sincerely,

Jeffrey Wilson.

Dear Mark and Stuart,

I just got back from my trip down to Indiana -- WOW! I personally saw formations (of the randomly downed wheat variety) in 24 (!) separate fields from Columbia City, Indiana to as far north as Clinton, Michigan. I think I took about 100 pictures today, and we barely had time to do any surveying at all. We did take Geiger counter readings, as well as radio/microwave, electric field strength, and magnetic field strength -- in two formations. The preliminary numbers are very interesting. The radiation came up about the same as we measured in last year's formations: 2-3 times normal background radiation. Nothing different in the radio/microwave, but up to 5 times the electric field strength, and up to ten times the magnetic field strength. Remember, these are preliminary numbers -- we looked at them on the way home, in the car.

Amazingly complex weaves and swirls were the order of the day, as well as severely bent nodes, and blackened and blown ones all over!

I'm still wired, but very tired. I will send you guys a map of where all the fields are, as well as photos as soon as they come back and are scanned. I will also send much more details of the areas after I get some sleep; we started this morning at 6 AM and it is now 12:15 AM.

Talk to you soon, keep up the great work!

Jeffrey Wilson

Dear Paul,
I have some new information about the formations that have been reported near St. Louis, MO, USA. I had planned on making a ten hour drive from Michigan to St.Louis to view the circles, and hopefully make some EM field and radiation measurements, but all the fields have been harvested already. This is from Steve Perkepal, the same gentleman who made the initial report to ilyes. I talked to him last Wed., just before i would have left. He describes ALL the "circle events" being the kind that people in the past have stated look like "wind damage". There were NO circles, agriglyphs, or patterns of any kind. All the events (at least 9 separate sites, with 25-30 separate affected areas) HAVE been affected by the same type of energy that causes circles and glyphs to form. Incidentally, this same type of event has been spotted the past two summers in Maryland, USA, and a few years ago at Fillon, Michigan near Bad Axe (also USA). The only difference between these events and other crop circle events is that these are unorganised, seemingly, randomly affected areas. Steve also reported to me that they attempted to take aerial photos, but accidentally exposed the film -- unfortunate, because all of the fields have now been harvested. He did however make diagrams and take measurements of the affected areas. What has seemed to be the largest outbreak of circle events in the US, would have largely slipped away, if not for his efforts. I think he has done a tremendous job (even without the aerials) considering how many there were, and how little time he had to survey them -- I know how overwhelming it can get!

I also can report 3 other "randomly downed crop" events from Indiana. MUFON investigator Roger Sugden informed me today of two areas less than a mile from each other near Columbia City (nearby last year's Whitley County formation), and the third site is 7 miles south of Columbia City. Roger went into one of the sites today, and is planning on taking aerial photos tomorrow. I should be going down sometime this week. Incidentally, Roger found these sites by looking on the map at last year's sites. He traced out a line from the Washington Center and Indian Village (both in Noble County) sites south, and came across another Town called Washington Center in Whitley County. He thought this was interesting, so he travelled down the line and came across the sites. He started this line from the Indian archaeological site by Indian Village -- which makes me wonder if he's stumbled upon a ley line in Indiana?

No events were reported in the Midwest of the US until after July 4 last year, so we're about the same time this year and things are starting to happen.

All the best,

keep up the great work,

Jeffrey Wilson

p.s. This year, in addition to taking Geiger counter measurements, I am going to take Electromagnetic field meter measurements; I am also using a GPS device to get (relatively) accurate LAT/LONG measurements.

I heard about the formation in Oregon on Monday, but I live on the other side of the continent, so I don't think I'll be checking that one out; same goes for the Utah and New Jersey sites. Shocker (!) that another two sites have appeared near Logan, Utah after last year's formation. I'm also wondering about the New Jersey formation -- you might recall there was a formation that appeared in New Jersey last summer : a swastika. Maybe because of the Nazi connotations it was immediately branded a hoax, but I'm wondering how close that formation was to this year's.

Roger Sugden flew over the area around Columbia City, Indiana on Monday, and he said there are nearly 50 separate Randomly Downed Crop Events that he saw, and he never even went north as far as where last year's formations were found. I'm going down to Indiana tomorrow to see a few of them, and to check out the area a little further north. I let you know what I find.

Like I said at the end of my last message, the USA gets a late start, but then things happen rather quickly.

I should point out that Steve Perkepal, the gentleman who reported the St.Loius area sites has a good partner in Elena Narkiya -- both might travel to Indiana this weekend to see what's near Columbia City.

Message Thursday 10th July.
