Andel, The Netherlands. Reported 2nd July.

Updated Friday 18th July 1997

I just want to inform you that a crop-circle occurred near my home-town , last Wednesday 2th of July. Because I did not saw any report in the Dutch CCCS page I am sending you this mail.

Please forward it to the contact person in Holland , who might want to investigate the circle.

Location : Driving on the river "dijk" from Woudrichem to Andel , just before the town shield on the right hand side in the corn-field. The circle , which can be seen very good from the top of the "dijk" has one main circle ( 8meter) and two connected ,smaller ones (3m) Because I do not have the equipment to get a picture this is all that I have now.

Report by Gerard Elema.

Update on the ANDEL FORMATION:

Location: Andel (Noord-Brabant). Created: June 29/30, 1997. Visited: Not visited by CCCS Holland. Remarks: Three circular imprints, crop unknown. Reported in a local newspaper (Eindhovens Dagblad, July 1st). According to the police, the formation appeared between 20.00 Saturday night and 11.00 Sunday morning.

Location: Andel , near Woudrichem, province of Nood Brabant. The formation is visible from the dike which runs parallel to the Hoofdgraaf (road) West of the village. Thanks to Gerard Elema for the directions ! I was able to visit this formation on July 13 th. Creation Date: Between June 29/30.

The form of this formation is a 'halter'. It consists of three circles connected by 40 centimetres wide pathways. Flow of the crop: anti clockwise in all the circles. Direction formation: North/South, the biggest circle being in the South.

From North to South: 1: small circle diameter: 3m20.(3 meters and 20 centimetres). connecting path of 6m20 with flow of the crop South/North, to:

2: bigger circle : diameter 15 meters. connecting path 7m50, flow of the crop North/South, to:

3: circle with diameter of 6m60 with a ring around it with a diameter of around 15 meters and 40 cm wide.

The circles were not completely round, a little bit flattened North/South.

Crop: barley

A man who lives next to the formation told me that the barley lay completely flat when he visited the formation the day after it was created. After two weeks half of the barley stood partly up. There was a sort of tail direction East in the middle circle, but it could have been accidentally made by visiting people. I hope to get a newspaper picture to show you what the formation looked like when it was still 'fresh'.

Reported by Anneco Blanson Henkemans. Our special friend in the Netherlands. ;-)
