Created in the night between August 3 and 4th, 1996. The day before I finished a two day circle hunt, participating in a documentary for Dutch television. On Sunday morning, the day after, the cinema director called me. One of the crew members went for a walk with his dog that morning, saw a wheat field and thought "well, that would be a nice place for one more of those things". One minute later he looked again and discovered a beautiful pictogram. The man was absolutely shocked!

When I arrived, I saw somebody cross the field towards the pictogram, diagonally, crushing the wheat areas underneath his feet. He also entered the pattern before I could arrive. Why have people so little respect for both the farmer's wheat and for these beautiful creations?

Anyway, the stalks where bent flat as a penny again. Although all orientations where simply concentric (no 'galaxies' and other complicated swirls), the thing made a very nice and neat impression on me. Striking details: note how the two bars are not at opposite positions, but slightly translated sideways, and note how the 'key' is not perpendicular to the rest. However, I did notice a small dent in the centre of the large centre circle and the one at the bottom. I also found dents in some other locations, which were no particular points of symmetry, and also underneath the flattened stalks. They were not deep, but could have been imprints of a hoaxer's pole. Nevertheless, the thing was beautiful and the symbol was absolutely impressive. If anybody would have hoaxed it so well, he would certainly have covered up the dents. Does anybody mean what these dents mean? Have they been seen more often? Please e-mail me at ehaselho@best.ms.philips.com. Not a lot to add. I will inform a dowser and see what he finds. My assistant, sensible to 'earth energy' felt a 'positive energy', but not as strong as usual. Note: the pattern was seen very well from the main road (it was below in the valley) and was probably meant to be seen from the South (?). Turn the image upside down - I believe it makes it much more impressive. Report by Dr Eltjo H. Haselhoff.

"The more often I see the effects of human presence in crop circles, the less I can believe that they are man-made..." When I saw how badly people had damaged this beautiful formation, the following quote also came in my mind: "The best proof that intelligent extraterrestrials exist, is the fact that they never bothered to contact us." Note the three-lettered word somebody added to the formation (which would be a four-lettered word after translation into English). It made me think of Mrs. Ghandi (was it her?), when she was asked: "What do you think of Western Civilisation?". She answered: "That would be a good idea!" A Video Capture by Eltjo Haselhoff.
