Odd Pattern in Wheat Field - Leader, Saskatchewan 8.20.06 © John Erickson (CCCRN Saskatchewan) Unusual semi-geometric pattern in wheat, found by pilot and CCCRN Saskatchewan assistant John Erickson on August 16. North of Leader in south-west Saskatchewan. Not being classified as a regular formation at this point, as plants apparently not flattened, and weeds are growing in the pattern area. While there may easily be a prosaic explanation for this, the cause is currently unknown. It does not appear to be typical wind damage or a randomly-downed area (RDA), with two semi-circular areas in the main part and another separate angled area adjacent to that, with no other visible markings or damage to the surrounding field. The pattern is set a ways into the field, with an unbroken expanse of crop surrounding it. Perhaps farming-related? By Paul Anderson (CCCRN) |

LATVIA: FAKE CROP CIRCLES In Latvia, a region of
ZEMGALE, GRENCI on the night of July, 23rd there were crop circles
consisting of 18 circles forming various elements of figure. Research of a
formation has revealed attributes of a rough fake made in the classical
way by means of a stick and a cord. It was not possible to find out what
attribute of authenticity. Typical faeke attributes have been found: The
stalks broken at the basis, mechanical damages of stalks from stacking of
the party opposite from a direction. The direction of stacking has an
azimuth on ground reference points with electric illumination (the house,
a fire tower) -applied a primitive viewfinder . To our regret Latvian
researcher E.Sidorov (UFOlats) has recognized the given formations to
authentic and continues publications in press about "unique the
phenomena". There are bases to believe about its participation in
manufacturing a forgery in the advertising purposes. |

Eight Oregon State University Linux Users Group (OSULUG) students are celebrating Firefox's 200 millionth download with a 45,000-square foot crop circle in Willamette Valley, which, incidentally, was the winning location in Oregon Trail! This is the same group that painted the OSU quad at 50M and launched the Firefox hot air balloon at 100M. http://lug.oregonstate.edu/gallery/firefox-crop-circle/mg_5560 http://lug.oregonstate.edu/index.php/Projects/Firefox/Firefox_Circle

Hey just wanted to let you guys know I’m off to another circle site this weekend… I talked to the landowner this morning just a couple of hours after he found it. He said it wasn’t there yesterday. It’s a simple 100 ft diameter circle swirled clockwise in a grass field. He wanted to know if the adjacent power line pole with the transformer box on it had anything to do with the circle being there, as he had a healthy pine tree die right next to it (all the needles fell off). It’s here in Ohio… Jeff Wilson |
