LARGE CROP CIRCLE DRAWS THOUSANDS IN SARDINIA

Thousands of curiosity-seekers descended on the village of Villaspeciosa on Sardinia,a large island in the Mediterranean Sea adjacent to Italy.
when a giant crop circle appeared there last week. The crop circle appeared in a field of grain on the outskirts of
Villaspeciosaon Tuesday, May 2, 2000. It was discovered by farm worker Pietro Pudda, 62, and Giovanni Casti, 61, the owner of Ridda Izza farm.
The crop circle measured 30 meters (100 feet) in diameter and consisted of three concentric circles. The "lay-down" pattern of the grain stalks
differed in each ring. The stalks of the outer ring lay perfectly flat in one direction; the stalks of the next ring pointed in the opposite
direction, and the stalks of the inner ring pointed in the same direction as the outer ring. The inner ring was approximately 12 meters
(40 feet) in diameter. The farm was visited by a platoon of Carabineri (Italy's national
police--J.T.) who took photographs and questioned Casti and Pudda. The Carabineri were from the barracks at Decimomanno.
Pudda said, "I have never seen such a strange thing in the grain before." The case is being investigated by ufologist

The formation has been discovered on May 1st around 17.30 PM by a farmer
working on the roof of his house looking in the field of his neighbour.
Alerted by the owner of the field the police has made an inspection. The formation has a circle with a diameter of about 30 meters with 3 external
circles with a diameter of 1 meter bent in opposite sense.
The wheat is "combed" in a concentric way. There are no burning signs.
Inside the three small circles there is a figure shaped as a cross. This cross
is 12 meters long and 8 meters large and at the top it has a center where the wheat
hasn't been bent so the figure resemble the Egyptian cross, symbol
of the Life (ANKH). The farmer said that the night before around midnight he heard dogs (10)
barking and when he looked outside the window he saw a blinking violet-white-orange light moving in the direction of town but not on the
path of the road. The farmer also reported the strange behaviour of his pigs refusing to eat. Some ufologist have made an inspection but at the moment
there is no more information available. The event has had a big audience on local media and many people have visited the field. In any case this is the
first time that in Italy such a type of formation, shaped a little bit more complex that a simple
circle, has been reported.

The first (and I hope not the last) formation to appear in Italy
is near Villaspeciosa (Cagliari) Sardegna in a field of wheat. Is a large circle
with plus 3 smaller circles bended in opposite sense. When I have more information
or photos I will inform you. The crop circle was discovered during
on the 1st or 2nd of May.
