We had a major event last week, in the North of the country. I was lucky to get these shots just before harvest! The formation appeared in the night of 19/20 August. It was a 'classic' - very well made, with a perfect lay and many 'authentic' characteristics. I did not have time to do any biophysical sampling (or I would get hit by the combine harvester) but I did perform all measurements and will be back with a geometric analysis later.

It seems like the Circlemakers did not forget Holland after all this year!
UPDATE #2

Just two days after the previous event (night of August 19/20) a second formation appeared
in Stadskanaal at a stone's throw of the first one, in the same field. It was without doubt the
Dutch crown on the year 2000: a very well-made, beautiful pictogram combining traditional British design
elements with some very original features. The lay was perfect, flat as a penny and very smooth and regular with
the familiar 'flowing water' association. No biophysical sampling could be done, unfortunately, due to
time constraints. We will have to wait until next year.

Description: 2 formations, the first is a key like formation: 2 circles with dot inside
connected with line to next circle, containing a mirrored F. The next: 3 circles connected, with a
V shape on top and with 2 dots on one side and 4 dots on the other side. With two lines on one side
and one on the other.

On 22-8-2000 The DCW got a Vaque message, about a crop circle in Stadskanaal (GR) NL,
as well as an article by e-mail that should have
been published in "Het Groninger Dagblad". Because we were not able to visit the formation, The DCW asked Mr. M. Kruitwagen of
the nature health practice "De Appeltuin" in Onstwedde, to take a look for us.

We Thank Mr. Kruitwagen for his cooperation
A summary of Ed Vos:
Mr. Kruitwagen visited the wheat formation on 25-8-2000, consisting of two formations, as he told us, that probably appeared in the night
between 18 and 19 august. Because the formation was not to be seen from the road, he went to a neighbouring flat, and had an
overall view from the 10th floor. What he saw made a deep impression to him. He call's the shape of the formation
"knife-sharp".
In the flat building a couple of hundreds people are living, with a good view over the landscape. But
now one did see anything.
That is amazing, because local villagers think, it's all a joke.

The article in the local paper says, the formation consists of symbols, and a few different sized circles, connected by a line.
People living in the mentioned flat, call it a Duck, a Fish, or a Flower
.
But, there is a second figure, with a shape like a key. Some people say, it appeared the day before the "Fish" like part of
the formation.
