Updated Friday 19th May 2000
The third German formation was discovered on May 17, 2000, in a field of barley at Doernberg close
to Zierenberg near Kassel in Hessen.
After the phenomenon has it's geometrical warm-up with a dumbbell-shape and a single circle in rape,
this latest arrival shows a more elaborate geometry of a sectioned circle with a kinked tail out of
meandering semi-ring as we have seen it the previous year, leading to a a circle with a standing
centre.
Researcher Dirk Moeller visited the formation on the same day after it was discovered and reported a
nice and interesting lay with impressive swirls and interweaved floor construction similar to those
found in several formations in England ( example: Beckhampton 'sting ray' 1998 ).
As the following pictures show.
Aerials to follow soon.
