INTERNATIONAL CROP CIRCLES OF 2000 |

On Monday, July 31, 2000 Kevin and Trina Bietz of Linesville, PA noticed
purported crop formations on their 40 acre farm. The family left for a
weekend vacation on Friday, July 28th, returning on Sunday evening. Although they
own the property, someone else farms the 10 acres of oats and wheat that are
involved in this case (60% oats and 40% wheat). The formations appeared over at least two different nights. Kevin first discovered the formations in
the fields on Monday morning while taking his usual ride on a small tractor to
check out blackberries with his daughter. On Tuesday morning he noticed that
additional areas of the field had been affected. Against the wishes of the Kevin (the
farmer), the person who is farming the land cut down some of the formations. Kevin
said what was cut down was an area of perfectly formed circles on the far side of the
field as you enter. There was also a fairly large mowed area upon entering
the field.
Two Mufon investigations from Ohio, George Pindroh and Richard Lee, were called to check out this case. They did so on Thursday, August 3rd,
and George called me at 10:00 Friday evening August 4th to talk about some of the details. After talking for a while, I told him that I wanted to visit
the site and immediately made arrangements to do so the next day.
On Saturday, August 5th my friend Renie and I drove the 100 miles from Strongsville (Cleveland), Ohio arriving at 3:30 p.m. Linesville is located
seven miles from the Ohio border just off of Route 6. We received permission to be in the field, although the Kevin and his wife didn't return home until
we had been there for about an hour or so. We were there for two hours total.
The following is my impression of this case. Upon entering the field where the crops were laid down, the words that immediately came to mind were
chaotic and messy with absolutely no symmetry at all to what one would have a hard time calling a "pattern". There was absolutely no swirl in any
of the individual "patterns"...the crop was laid down straight across from its base. There were many bent stalks even along the areas out of the way of
the 20 or so people who had been in the field in the days before we got there.
It appeared to be a very amateurish attempt. However, there were several standing tall weeds and flowers throughout the laid crop...as well as several
weeds and flowers that were in "recovery" and trying to straighten up from
being bent along with the crop, but they were not broken.
In addition to using our intuition and visual powers, Renie and I both dowsed
and we both got that what was going on in the field was authentic AND manmade!!!
It is OUR opinion that it is possible that the authentic area was what the
"share cropper" cut down and the rest was a hoax attempt.
Kevin and Trina's Pets (dog & cat) when taken out into the field on Monday acted very "weird". The dog jumped
around a lot and rolled around and the cat meowed excessively while in the
fields; however, one of the Mufon investigators, George, took his dog with
him on Thursday and he reported that his pet did not act strangely. Renie
and I both noticed on Saturday that there were many birds in the field as well as dragonflys and
MANY butterflies (lots of white ones). As we initially walked toward the field, a
hawk flew on the outer perimeter of the area affected. To both Renie and I, animal
totems are VERY important...so we knew we were to pay particular attention to any "message" that came while there since hawk represents "messenger".
(I can see the scientifically minded rolling their eyes...bring them back into
your little left-brained heads and remember that we are in a new era of dealing
with the unexplained in BOTH a spiritual AND scientific way). :-))
So, while what was left in the fields seemed very amateurishly done, Kevin and Trina reported the following that are classic examples of possible
"authentic" formations:
Trina has suffered for years from "fibromyalgia syndrome" (FMS), a very painful disease, often causing extreme fatigue. She reported to Renie and
I that since being in the crop formations on Monday, she has had MUCH increased energy and has needed very little sleep compared to the 12 hours
that is common and she has been almost pain free and in very good spirits.
Kevin, who has suffered for years with a very painful neck injury has
noticed some relief of his pain.
Kevin's sister-in-law Diane had a severe migraine headache when she came to their house on Monday, and it disappeared after entering the field. One of
Kevin and Trina's nephews suffers from Asthma and was having a mild episode at the house...it subsided upon entering the field. However, their
niece reported that she felt "sick" after being in the field.
Kevin also reported that a fresh battery pack completely drained after being in the field....that compasses would not work properly....and that a night
video captured "spirals, ovals, and balls of red, green, and white lights"
that were not visible when videotaping the field...they were only visible when
viewed afterward. Kevin and Trina both reported that about 3:00 a.m. on Monday morning they heard a "humming" sound that sounded like a dog
"snooring" but in a continuous fashion. (Note: I took a roll of film of the field and my camera worked fine...the film will be back on Tuesday).
I'm going to ask Michael Morton if it is possible for him to look at the "grid area"
of Linesville, PA to see if there is anything particularly significant to
this area.
I have to say that it was a pleasure to meet Kevin and Trina and that they have a strong connection to nature. Trina in particular feels a guardianship
to the land. She is a massotherapist and Reiki practioner. Renie and I both felt that we had certainly met two very nice people. Just before we
left, I asked Kevin and Trina if they felt there was anything significant about
their land and Trina said "oh, well there is an Indian burial mound on the
property". HELLO!!!
Kevin and Trina gave permission to take a soil sample which we brought back to give to the Mufon investigations and a couple of each of the wheat and oat
stalks.
Lastly, I believe that Kevin and Trina are in contact with someone from England
named Nancy Talbot who has been gathering information from them about this case.
One last interesting note regarding this particular area. It is VERY close
to Conneaut, Ohio which has a LOT of what we would call UFO sightings.
