Reconstruction of the 2011 Fonthill Down formation | ||
1.
Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.
2.
Construct the inscribed hexagon (regular 6-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up.
3.
Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 1, pointing to the right.
4.
Divide the horizontal centerline of circle 1 into five equal parts.
5.
Construct a circle centered at the leftmost division node 4, tangent to the lefthand side of hexagon 2.
6.
Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection, and passing through the lefthand intersection of circle 5 with the horizontal centerline.
7.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the center of circle 6.
8.
Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 7, pointing to the right.
9.
Copy circle 6 five times, to the other angular points of hexagon 8.
10.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 6, tangent to both lefthand sides of hexagon 3.
11.
Copy circle 10 five times, to the centers of circles 9.
12.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 6 at the righthand side.
13.
Copy circle 12 to the lower intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline.
14.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 13 at the lower side.
15.
Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 10 and the horizontal centerline, passing through the righthand intersection of the leftmost two circles 9.
16.
Copy circle 15 to the lower intersection of circle 14 and the vertical centerline, and move this circle (copy and delete original) to its own lefthand intersection with circle 14.
17.
Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the center of circle 16 and its righthand intersection with circle 14.
18.
Copy circle 17 to the center of circle 16.
19.
Circles 1, 6, 9, 10, 11, 16 and 18, are used for the final reconstruction.
20.
Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.
21.
Colour all areas corresponding to standing...
22.
...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2011 Fonthill Down formation.
