Reconstruction of the 2011 Walmsgate formation | ||
1.
Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.
2.
Construct the inscribed hexagon (regular six-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing up.
3.
Copy circle 1 to the upper righthand angular point of hexagon 2.
4.
Copy circle 1 to the righthand intersection of circle 3 and the horizontal centerline.
5.
Copy circle 1 to the upper righthand intersection of circles 3 and 4.
6.
Draw the connecting line between the center of circle 1 and the righthand intersection of circles 4 and 5.
7.
Construct a circle centered at the upper angular point of hexagon 2, tangent to line 6.
8.
Construct a circle centered at the lower angular point of hexagon 2, tangent to circle 7 at the lower side.
9.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the center of circle 4.
10.
Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 9, pointing to the right.
11.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the center of circle 5.
12.
Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 11, pointing up.
13.
Copy circle 7 eighteen times, to the center of circle 1, to the (other) angular points of hexagon 2 and to all angular points of hexagons 10 and 12.
14.
Copy circle 8 also eighteen times, to the center of circle 1, to the (other) angular points of hexagon 2 and to all angular points of hexagons 10 and 12.
15.
Circles 7, 8, 13 and 14, are used for the final reconstruction.
16.
Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.
17.
Colour all areas corresponding to standing...
18.
...or to flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2011 Walmsgate formation.
