Hummingbird & Nazca Consciousness
Following my previous article
Nazca and Spirit Bird Connections on the June 14th Barbury Formation in which I briefly highlighted some
thoughts and observations on the Evolution of current Crop Circle
design and described its possible relation to the Evolution of
Consciousness (both human and in general). I used the famous
Nazca Lines from ancient Peru as an example to show how design
and consciousness both go hand in hand and to suggest that this
seasons Crop Circles are revealing a new direction, from pure
circles to the inclusion of straight lines, which strongly reminded
me of the Nazca images.

I
have since been following these seasons’ designs with keen interest
as especially this season seems to focus on an almost mesmerizing
set of intricate Fauna (see e.g.
Dragonfly Comments ). It is of course wonderful to post an
article on the Connection between Crop circles and the Nazca
Geoglyphs, and find a lot of it confirmed only 2 weeks later by a
new formation. It is almost like getting a post card from an old
friend.
I
of course relish the thoughts and ideas of others and enjoy the wide
variety of ideas and interpretations that these designs are
inspiring. However in this case I can fully agree with the comment
by Rick – West Oz, in that this specific formation closely
resembles the Nazca Hummingbird (which happens to be regarded as one
of the first images of that region). Nazca depicts a wide variety of
bird images and to this date no one exactly knows
WHY a Civilization went to all that effort some 2000 years ago.
However Birds definitely played an important role.

I
don’t doubt though that once again there will be numerous levels of
interpretation, including Celestial & Chronological Alignments. It
should be noted, that the Nazca lines have also been found to align
with Celestial Objects at specific times of the year. But here I
would like to focus on the
Hummingbird, its role in
Native American Mythology and following my previous article,
also its general role as a
Consciousness Catalyst . A quick scan via the Internet using the
terms
"Hummingbird" and
"Consciousness" alone reveal a myriad of Connections, from
A Community living in Harmony with Nature through more
Expressive Links and even a set of
Boeing Helicopters that I never knew existed.
In Biology, the Hummingbird is a very special bird native to the
Americas and they are unique in that they can
hover in mid-air by rapidly flapping their
wings 12-90 times per second (depending on the species). They
can also fly backwards, and are the only group of birds able to do
so. Its unique role is reflected in its special placing within
Native American Mythology, where it is mainly connected to love,
fertility and as a savior in times of extreme hardship (being
especially connected to drought and rain). Generally the Hummingbird
is regarded as a positive sign.

With regard to this new Crop Circle Formation, I can only regard it
as an affirmation to my previous Article, with the main points being
that 1) There is a correlation between the Evolution of the
Formations and the Evolution of Consciousness itself 2) The
formations are transforming from Circle constructs to integrate
straight lines*. 3) Consciousness may play a very important role in
the message given to us by the Crop Circle Makers (including
Telepathy**), 4) this new Formation definitely links Crop Circles to
the Nazca Geoglyphs (and requires further study), 5) This Season
highlights our Planets Fauna in intricate and complex patterns (so
far… Marine and Airborne Life forms that have either special
Mythological or Evolutionary significance). This also requires
further thought and study, but to me at least it is as clear as a
Biohazard Sign . It inspires, but also warns.

The
Evolution of Geometry (as I see it) can best be read in my
previous article. But here again I detect that same amalgam of
design. This “Hummingbird” retains key elements of Circle Design,
while expanding outward and introducing the typical “straight-line”
Design of the Nazca Culture. In a way it is much further evolved
thanks to the merging of both design formats. The Nazca
“Hummingbird” lacks the circles, this Crop Circle Design corrects
this (my view) masterfully by emphasizing circles at the head (Mind)
and reproductive region (Fertility) which are both “almost”
encompassed by a larger circle. This larger Circle has its center at
the main point of stress (as I hope any aeronautics engineer will
affirm).

Telepathy is an idea that intrigues me. Why does one person
“get a bad feeling” and avoid an action exactly at a time that this
would have harmed that person (but others don’t)? We all have
anecdotes of this phenomenon, the parent who knew a child had just
died, the child who had a “bad dream” and would by no means get in
the bus, and of course many more diluted versions of the same… In
Evolutionary terms it makes sense that such ability is a most
valuable in Evolutionary and Biological terms.

Nazca Myths and Theories abound, but it is that mystery and the
fact that anyone can actually go there and experience it for
themselves that makes them timeless. With regard to the Crop Circles
it is quite the opposite. If one does not follow them up within the
season, they are simply gone… They are definitely not timeless, and
that to me remains the most important message. For the first time
these two extremes have been merged into one, being bridged by a
" Hummingbird " , bringer of hope, love, consciousness & much
more.
Among the many
Hummingbird Legends, one in particular stands out in my mind.
One of the
widespread beliefs is that hummingbirds, in some way, are messengers
between words. As such they help shamans keep nature and spirit in
balance. The Cochti have a story about ancient people who lost
faith in the Great Mother. In anger, she deprived them of rain for
four years. The people noticed that the only creature who thrived
during this drought was Hummingbird. When they studied his habits,
the shamans learned that Hummingbird had a secret passageway to the
underworld. Periodically, he went there to gather honey. Further
study revealed that this doorway was open to Hummingbird alone
because he had never lost faith in the Great Mother. This
information inspired the people to regain faith. After that the
Great Mother took care of them.
