Dai Dobbs, my excellent pilot, sent me this
photo of a modest circle, which he discovered yesterday (27
July) to PhotoShop and forward to the Connector. I don't have
any other information, except that it looks like it must be in
wheat.

We visited the
formation across from Allington near the downs. It was in a wheat field filled
with thistle, many of which were laid down along with the
wheat. Some of the thistles were broken off, while others
managed to lay down nicely without
being damaged/dying. A very energetic lay at this
one. It was contained by a 4ft wide ring of about 160 ft (I
think, I don't remember the measurements on this one so
well). It had a laid circle (35 ft diameter) tangent to
the inner edge of the ring. At the point of tangency, a
second smaller ring circumscribed the laid circle as
well. The second ring emerged in the centre of the larger ring
as a laid crescent (almost semi-circle) and had a three
foot wide laid path connecting to a second laid
circle. I have some ground photos, but we are having
difficulty downloading them at the moment. I am sure they
will be flown on in the coming days.
