Watchfield Analysis

I believe this striking formation will mark a turning point in our understanding of crop circles. … A number of its characteristics are of universal significance but it’s also the case that the date it was first seen, its geographical location and unique structural form exhibit explicit links to information that was set out in my report of July 30, regarding the nearby Uffington edifice.

I demonstrated [amongst other things] that as one of the latter circle’s three internal structures closely resembles a V - the 22nd letter of the alphabet that’s dominant in the UK - it embodies the means of generating, in a simple and elegant way, the number that represented the day of the recent solar eclipse - 214 [= 21 (V’s preceding letters) juxtaposed with 4 (its following letters] - many people believing that this astronomical event is being visually depicted in the formation.

I then showed that the circle’s dominating V-like structure can also be linked to the 54th prime [if V’s preceding letters are labelled 1 to 21 and those following, 1 to 4, the sum is 241 (= 54p)] and the inferred number, 54, exhibits a definitive relationship with a highly relevant word: SUN i.e. the alphabetical value [as per the cipher A=1 ... Z=26] of its 3 letters is 54 [= 19+21+14].

I subsequently revealed that 360, the sun disc’s quota of degrees, exceeds 54p by 119, a number whose digit sequence is identical to that of .119, the proportion of the cited solar circle that was destined to be obscured, when viewed from that terrestrial area [including the point I called A], at the maximum phase of the eclipse. I would now add that the quoted values of the letters of the word SUN - 19, 21 & 14 - are also tied in a meaningful way to the described 119: the derived expression - 19p+21p+14p - yields 173 [= 61+71+41] which exceeds 54 [= 19+21+14] by 119.

Having argued, then, that the Uffington circle was stressing both the date August 01 and the number 54 I noted with interest that on that very day a formation endowed with 54 prominent elements was reported i.e. the Watchfield Wind Farm structure has 54 cog-like teeth [= 3x18], and it was clear that, in common with the word SUN, the formation comprises 3 distinct parts. These characteristics are illustrated in the symbolic diagram below, where I’ve removed both the outer curved band of the formation and the ring that’s placed inside each cog wheel, I’ve also represented the central circle’s ring of 14 clusters of standing crop with a circled ‘14 TUFTS’:-

A closer scrutiny of this simple arrangement soon identified rational explanations for all the depicted numbers having been placed together. …

Firstly, knowing that the 18th and 14th primes [i.e. 18p & 14p] are 59 & 41, respectively, it was easy to uncover one reason why the central circle’s 18 cogs encompass the ring of 14 tufts:-

18p - 14p  =  18

·        where 18 is not just each of the three circles’ tally of cogs it’s also the digit sum of 19, 21 & 14, the quoted alphabetical values of SUN’s three letters. 

And when I added the formation’s total tally of cogs, 54, to its allotment of tufts, 14, I found that the outcome - 68 - has an edifying relationship with the 54th and 14th primes [i.e. 241 & 41]:-

54p + 14p - 68 = 214 the day of the year the eclipse occurred [and the field structure was first reported]. 

My recognition that the formation’s numerical structure embodies this subtle allusion to the date of both its presumed birth and that day’s solar eclipse encouraged me to believe that we’re also being invited to recognise other information it contains about the latter celestial event. …

In particular, the structure’s possession of 54 cogs provides us with the means of computing the previously described difference between the degree quota of the apparent sun disc, 360, and 54p [= 241] … 119 … whose digit sequence is identical to that of - .119 - the amount the solar area was obscured at the maximum phase of eclipse, when viewed from the ground in that region. However, I now realised that the formation is tied to the cited 119 in two other ways as well, but as my descriptions of the respective mechanisms would hold up the current argument I’ll leave them for another time.

At this juncture, my attention was drawn to the proximity of the 3-fold formation to one of the wind farm’s group of 3-bladed turbines and after carefully considering different aspects of the relationship I concluded that it had been a pivotally important component of the statement being made by the crop circle builders. ...

I first noted that when the sets of 18 cogs and the 14 tufts are labelled with consecutive integers - starting at 1 - the tally of primes present is 31 and this number relates in an explicit way to all of the cited turbines: the latter are endowed with blades whose length happens to be 31 metres [obtained from the Farm website], as depicted below [where the prime labels are shown in red]:-

I would have dismissed this apparent link between the formation and each turbine blade as being nothing more than a coincidence were it not for my recognition of two other relevant facts. …

A line that’s contiguous with the eastern extremities of the two smaller cogged wheels appears to be tangential to the western extremity of the column that supports the nearest turbine assembly [or is at least close to being so] and when all 3 cog wheels and that 1 turbine are viewed together - from the same side of the formation as the cited line i.e. the east - the 3-1 configuration of the structures on display can simulate another manifestation of … 31 … as shown in the Fig. below, where the original photograph was by DD & PRS [Note: north is at the Fig’s top (approx.)]:-

 

Furthermore, knowing that the 31 prime labels associated with the formation’s 68 cogs & tufts are accompanied by 37 other labels [i.e. 68-31], which aren’t prime, I noted with interest that the two cited numbers are, in fact, consecutive primes: the 12th [= 31] and 13th [= 37], respectively. And it didn’t take me long to discover that 25, the sum of the inferred 12 & 13, exhibits a simple and elegant relationship with the word TURBINE. …

The av [= ‘alphabetical value’ as per the previously cited cipher: A=1…Z=26] of TURBINE’s seven letters can be expressed as - 25p [= the 25th prime = 89 = 20+21+18+2+9+14+5] - and I knew that it doesn’t need a leap of imagination to infer from this the described 25 [= 12+13].

I was now presented with the possibility, then, that the builders of the Watchfield Wind Farm formation had, apart from anything else, been inviting us to identify the foregoing links between their magnificent creation and the adjacent turbine. I was therefore keen to establish if there are any similar relationships I’d overlooked. …

Having noted that TURBINE’s av exceeds 31, which I’d found expressed in three different ways [turbine’s blade length, 31 m; cogs & tufts’ 31 prime labels; & the 3-1 arrangement can infer 31], by - 58 [= 89-31] - I recalled that the latter number is inextricably tied to 214, the day of the year the formation was first reported and the solar eclipse occurred. … When 214 is expressed as the product of its prime factors, it takes the form - 2px29p [= 2x107] - and we know that the product - 2x29 - can be inferred from this, which yields the described 58.

My discovery of this clear link between the cited attribute of the word TURBINE and 58, which is tied so closely to the formation’s presumed day of birth, now led me to a chilling revelation. … I started by looking at the relationship from a different direction. …

On this year’s 214th day, when the solar eclipse was due to take place, the formation we now see is believed to have appeared in front of one of the turbines in the Watchfield Wind Farm facility. And as the cited 214 [= 2px29p] can be linked arithmetically to the number 58 [= 2x29] we can observe that this differs from 89, the av of the word TURBINE, by - 31 - which is related to the structural arrangement, on site, in the three ways I’ve described. But when I tried to determine if the numbers 89 & 58 are linked in any other meaningful ways I obtained a definitive answer. …

When I computed their product, I beheld a 4-digit number - 5162 [= 89x58] - I’d already found is related to the formation. By comparing the aerial photographs published on this website with the Google Earth map of the area I’d concluded that the following line of latitude [WGS 84]:-

51.62° N - passes through [or grazes past] the core of the structure’s central wheel.

In other words, I’d discovered that the simple act of multiplying together the numbers 89 & 58 [89 = TURBINE’s av and 58 was inferred from the day the formation was first seen (= 2x29p)] produces 5162, which represents a WGS 84 line of latitude, expressed in degrees/100 North, that appears to pass through the formation’s central area.

Furthermore, I could see that the digit sum of 5162 is … 14 … the central ring’s quota of tufts.

But it was also clear that the factor of 100, needed to convert the expression ‘5162 hundredths of a degree North’ to the more conventional ‘51.62° North’, can be derived in a simple and elegant way from the very part of the formation that the cited line of latitude seems to be intersecting - the central cog wheel. …The latter structure, which comprises 18 cogs, encompasses the above cited ring of 14 tufts and I can now reveal that the expression 18p+14p yields … 100 [= 59+41].

These sobering relationships are shown in the Fig. below, where the orientation of the lines of latitude is not intended to be accurate:-

 

My hypothesis that the described line of latitude through the formation’s central area has to be expressed as per the WGS 84 map datum is supported, I believe, by the fact that the number 1984, which we know was the year that that geodetic tool came into use, can be simulated in a subtle way from the relationship that exists between the crop structure and the turbine. …

Knowing that when the 3-wheeled formation and the 1 turbine are viewed from the east the number 31 can be inferred it was clear that the corresponding western view would yield … 13.

But 13 & 31 are the 7th & 12th primes, respectively, and the sum of the inferred 7 & 12 is ... 19. Furthermore, the product of 7 & 12 is, of course ... 84 ... so the simple juxtaposition of these two numbers can infer the cited ... 1984 … as illustrated below:-

Having recognised this oblique link to the year WGS 84 began I realised that the three depicted sets of numbers - 13, 1 & 3, and 31 - also relate in a far more explicit way to the map datum, in the context of the number that represents the value [in °/100] of the line of latitude that appears to pass through the formation’s core: 5162. The expression 13x(1x3)x31 + 5162 yields:-

the WGS 84 ellipsoid’s geometric mean radius, in km [to the nearest .001] 

And knowing that the part of the formation the cited line seems to intersect - its central wheel - is comprised of 18 sectors of 20 degrees [each sector including the small gaps between the cogs] I was excited to note that the expression 18px20p + 13x(1x3)x31 yields another manifestation of … 5162 … the WGS 84 value [in °/100] of the very line of latitude I was considering.

I also knew that that central wheel’s core embodies its own stunning allusion to WGS 84. …

The earlier described labels I attached to the 14 tufts form 10 groups of primes & non-primes and the digit sum of the respective numbers is 60, as shown below [where the primes are red]:-

The product 10px60p yields another - 6371 [= 23x277] - the described WGS 84 radius [in km].

I now labelled the 10 sets of tufts 1 to 10, noting that the new label sum is … 55 [= 1+…+10]. As the tuft ring is - within the formation - encompassed by another ring, which resembles a zero, I realised that the arrangement could infer the number 550, which can be expressed as 2x11x25.

And I recalled that the inferred product, 2px11px25p, yields the familiar … 5162.

I would add that the difference between 550p [= 3967] & 5162 - namely, 1195 - also has a role in the interpretation of the structures under analysis. It can be expressed as 53px4p [= 239x5] and the inferred product, 53x4, yields … 212 … a number that can be simulated from the 2-1-2 arrangement of wind turbines [the central 1 being the turbine that’s next to the crop formation].

And as 53 = 17p, the cited 53x4 can infer 68 [= 17x4], the formation’s tally of cogs and tufts … a fitting point to end this long presentation!
