Reconstruction of the 2007 Stantonbury Hill formation | ||
1.
Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.
2.
Construct the circumscribed regular 96-sided polygon of circle 1, with the midpoint of a side on the horizontal centerline. Number the angular points counterclockwise 1 through 96, starting at the rightmost point just above the horizontal centerline, as shown.
3.
Draw six pairs of diagonals of polygon 2, by connecting angular points nrs. 1 and 48, 49 and 96, 8 and 57, 9 and 56, 16 and 65, 17 and 64, 24 and 73, 25 and 72, 32 and 81, 33 and 80, 40 and 89, and 41 and 88.
4.
Construct a circle centered at the intersection of the vertical centerline and diagonal 3 from 49 to 96, tangent to diagonals 3 from 9 to 56 and from 40 to 89. See detail.
| ||
5.
Copy circle 4 to the lefthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline.
6.
Copy circle 4 eight more times, to the lefthand intersection of circle 5 and to the corresponding intersections of consecutively copied circles, all with the horizontal centerline, as shown.
7.
Construct nine circles, all concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 5 and consecutive circles 6, all at the lefthand sides, as shown.
8.
Extend diagonals 3 up to outer circle 7.
9.
Draw six rays of polygon 2, from the center of circle 1 to angular points nrs. 2 through 7.
10.
Extend rays 9 up to outer circle 7.
11.
Repeat step 9 for the other eleven sectors of polygon 2, formed by diagonals 3, as shown.
12.
Repeat step 10 for rays 11.
13.
Construct a "two-points" circle, whose end-points of a centerline coincide with the center of circle 1 and its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline, as shown.
14.
Construct a similar circle, whose end-points of a centerline coincide with the center of circle 1 and its lefthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.
15.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the intersections of circles 13 and 14 and the vertical diagonals 3, as shown.
16.
Copy circle 15 two times, to the centers of circles 13 and 14.
17.
Construct a circle, passing through the intersections of extensions 10 of rays 9 nrs. 4 and 5 and the second and third smallest circles 7, as shown. See detail.
| ||
18.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the center of circle 17.
19.
Construct a circle centered at the intersection of extension 10 of ray 9 nr. 4 and circle 18, tangent to circle 17 at the lower side.
20.
Copy circle 19 to the center of circle 17.
21.
Copy circles 17 and 20 as a whole eleven times, to the corresponding positions within the other eleven sectors, as shown.
22.
Circles 1, 7, 13, 14, 16, 17, 20 and 21, and lines 8, 10 and 12, are used for the final reconstruction.
23.
Remove everything not present in the formation itself.
24.
Colour all areas of standing...
25.
...or of flattened crop, and finish the reconstruction of the 2007 Stantonbury Hill formation.
