I would like to add a bit to what Jerome wrote to you yesterday about the crop formation he discovered at All Cannings bridge. First, I don’t think those Foo Fighters, as he calls them, were military flares because they were not over Salisbury Plain, but over Horton I would guess!  They would suddenly and noiselessly appear, two or three at a time, flying together for a few minutes before disappearing as suddenly as they appeared.

He should have mentioned that the formation, although similar to the great Alton Barnes 1990 formation, lacked the “hand of God” appendage.  It did consist to two large, classic dumbbells, in line with four progressively smaller circles at the top, like the 1990 formation.

My hudband says the two large lower circles and rings are much bigger than a hundred feet across, and the whole formation might be nearly a thousand feet long.

Rain came chucking it down at two o’clock in the morning.  I know, because I am a very light sleeper, and the sound of heavy rain on the roof of the boat always wakes me up.  We found no evidence of mud in the formation, however.

Here are two pictures I took with Jerome’s cellphone.  One shows the smallest circle at the top of the formation.  The other depicts the lower three circles.  You can see that the tramline they are on is aimed exactly at the bridge.

I would also like to say a word parenthetically about The Barge Inn, where we had tied up our narrow boat two days before.  I’ve heard that the Barge had become a bad place where hoaxers hang out and that true croppies don’t go there any more.  But I met several good crop circle lovers there, including a couple from

Japan and a family from Germany who were lovely.  And the map in the back room showing circle locations going back some twenty years is up to date.  In fact Jerome and I walked back there along the tow path yesterday to put a dot on the map representing our crop formation.  :-)

Mr. Muller’s discovery of discrepancies

Dear Mr. Fussell,

I read with great interest Andreas Müller’s report on the discrepancies between the photos I took of the All Cannings formation on the first morning, and the aerial shots taken days later.

He is correct that there was indeed a tuft in the middle of the large ringed circle when I was first there.  I think it was also there the following day, but perhaps I simply didn’t notice that it was gone.  The day after that we took our boat many miles down the canal, but perhaps I will walk back to All Cannings to have a look and see what the centre of the circle looks like now.  I am very curious.

But Mr. Müller is mistaken about the grapeshot being added on later, however.  Both grapeshot were definitely there that first morning.  It’s just that the resolution of my mobile camera is too muddy to show them at all well in the shot I took from the far side of the large circle.  In fact you posted a shot I took looking down into the grapeshot which is closest to the bridge on the day of discovery (now on page 2).

I have to say that I have long admired Mr. Müller’s excellent diagrams.

And I am so pleased to have made a contribution to the Crop Circle Connector at long last!

The crop circle of July 17, 2007 (“A Pictorial Representation of the Progression of Consciousness)

1) The first sphere to the extreme left signifies the “point consciousness” of reflection.

2) The second sphere signifies the creation of the ‘form’ or the ‘image’ of the spatial, through self-reflection, as a point of light (self) within a field of darkness (non-self).

3) The third sphere signifies the temporal continuity and expansion of light (the self) through the postulation of the thought of the ‘thinker’ originating in fear and desire.

4) The fourth sphere signifies the time-reversal to psychosis (darkness) and the inversion of spatial definition of self and non-self, good and evil.

5) The fifth sphere signifies the emergence of the “observing consciousness” as a point of light within the field of the darkness of psychosis; which manifests through the receiving of Revelations which precipitated the collapse of the ‘classical’ consciousness in the first place, and/or the emergence of the “archetypes”. (See Jungian psychology).

6) The sixth symbol, consisting of two spheres connected by a line, signifies the violent oscillation of emotions signifying the violent oscillation between the “observing consciousness” (and the Knowledge conveyed of and through the “observing consciousness”), and the ‘classical’, dualistic consciousness originating in self-reflection (and the perceptions and knowledge originating in the dependently-arising dualities) symbolized by the “dragon”. (See the Thanksgiving Hymns of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Revelation of John.)

7) The seventh symbol, consisting of a large and a larger sphere connected by a line, signifies the oscillation between the consciousness based upon Knowledge received through Revelation, the oscillation of the ‘classical’ consciousness within the field of the “observing consciousness” and the re-definition of “good” and “evil” on the basis of Revealed Knowledge.

8) The size and orientation of the small spheres at the extreme right are suggestive of ‘vestigial’ or ‘trivial’ elements of the consciousness originating in self-reflection--perhaps reflex or mechanical elements of the ‘beast of the sea’/‘beast of the earth’ aspects of the ‘classical’ consciousness--which are ‘satellite’, ‘peripheral’, or ‘tangential’ to the oscillating consciousness originating in the Revelation of Knowledge (see the Gospel of Philip).
