Details are as follows:

Flight from Wiltshire Microlight Centre at 0930 hrs Saturday 23rd July 2003 in a “Thruster” with enclosed cockpit (thus the slightly misty photos).

Tony Hughes, the pilot, said that this formation appeared overnight – as it was definitely not there yesterday evening.

Tony first sighted it, but these are the first photos.

Camera – Casio P600 6 Mega Pixel Exilim Digital – taken at a resolution of 2816 x 2112 pixels.

The enclosed photographs have been reduced to 1280 x 1024 and compressed for emailing. If anyone wants the originals – then I forward them – but they are rather ‘milky’ due to the aircraft windows and internal reflections – sorry.

I also took an AVI clip as we circled around it.

During the flight I must have seen over 15 circles in the triangle of Avebury, Alton Barnes, Devizes.

A tremendous experience.

Here some diagrams of the geometric reconstruction of the Crop at Avebury Henge.   There's a "Hyantra Mandala" generated by a Flower of Life.   All the best and thank you again.

It was with great joy that I managed to visit this formation finally! I found it in a great condition, considering its placement it doesn't seem to have had a lot of foot traffic.

Once in the formation it is extremely difficult to get the just of the shapes etc but throughout the placement and lay is tremendously consistent. Perhaps the best I've visited this year, perhaps the best formation thus far. My son insisted much to my disapproval on running round the perimeter and from there it was easy to see the huge scale. I managed to find a remote undisturbed piece of the lay and removed just 1 sample (of which I have enclosed a scan) the stalk bending is what has amazed me, no breaks, no folds, just as if the crop has decided to grow horizontally, or bend at some given point. I was trying to post this onto the forum but was unsure how, perhaps you can use it somewhere on the site.
