Reconstruction of the 2005 Lurkeley Hill formation | ||
1.
Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.
2.
Copy circle 1 to its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline, and move (copy and delete original) this circle to its own righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.
3.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 2 at the righthand side.
4.
Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 3 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 2 at the lefthand side.
5.
Copy circle 4 to its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.
6.
Copy circle 4 to the righthand intersection of circle 5 and the horizontal centerline.
7.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 4 at the righthand side.
8.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 5 at the righthand side.
9.
Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 6 at the righthand side.
10.
Copy circle 8 two times, to its righthand and upper intersections with the horizontal and vertical centerlines, respectively.
11.
Draw the connecting line between both intersections of circles 10.
12.
Construct the inscribed dodecagon (regular 12-sided polygon) of circle 9, with one angular point coincident with the intersection of circle 9 and line 11.
13.
Draw the twelve rays of dodecagon 12, and number these starting with the rightmost one just above the horizontal centerline, counterclockwise, as shown.
14.
Copy circles 1 and 3 together four times, to the intersections of circle 9 and rays 13 nrs. 2, 5, 8 and 11.
15.
Copy circle 1 four times, to the intersections of circle 3 and rays 13 nrs. 2, 5, 8 and 11.
16.
Copy circle 1 eight times, to the intersections of circle 7 and rays 13 nrs. 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12.
17.
Copy circle 1 eight times, to the intersections of circle 9 and rays 13 nrs. 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12.
18.
Circles 1, 3, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16 and 17 make up all necessary parts for the reconstruction.
19.
Leave out the parts not visible within the formation itself.
20.
Colour all areas corresponding to standing...
21.
...or to flattened crop, to finish the reconstruction of the 2005 Lurkeley Hill formation.
