Because of the interest in this formation and recent changes, I attach a wider shot of it when first taken, to show that there were no additions missed at the first pass. Hopefully I can give it a second run before the field is harvested.

The above aerial by Andrew King only shows two thirds of the formation as it looked when we visited it on Sunday the 24th of July. And it looks as though it must have changed between the day the aerial was taken and the day we visited it.

The numbers 1, 2a, 2b, 3 etc. refer to the 8 circles and two grape shots that we found on the ground when we visited the formation. Only circles 1 - 5 are visible on the aerial taken by A. King, and as you can see, circle 2 (from the left) seems to have changed since the aerial was taken. On the aerial it seems to have a spiral of standing crop, but as you can see from (photos Circle 2a and 2b) when we visited it, it looked quite different.

To the right of the 5 circles seen on the aerial, about 50m farther down the field (just visible on photo Circle-1), we found two beautiful grape shots and three more circles.

For info only – lousy pictures from my ancient digital cam/ Better ones will come – I hope!

I flew over Garsington this evening. There are 3 formations there – two in fields on either side of the road below the church, and another behind the church, on the other side. This latter has a superb woven lay clearly seen from the air. I did not visit any on them on the ground.

Near Chalfont St peter– off the M25, Junction17, 2 formations, just discernable and on opposite sides of the motorway – south one, a dumbbell,  only just visible viewed between the trees lining the anti clockwise carriageway; the other, an indescribable mess of squiggles and flattened patches, poorly visible from the clockwise carriageway in the little valley approaching j17. It is close to a radio mast and some quarry works, I did not have the time to investigate but will send a map scan as soon as I can.
