Following the 3 reports of this formation on the rumours page we’ve been to have a closer look and take some photos.  The formation is best viewed from Reigate Hill Golf Course on the south side of the M25 (a public footpath conveniently bisects the course).  The formation is in a steep field (wheat?) just north of the motorway and immediately west of the Pilgrim’s Way where it swings under the motorway.  Another public footpath runs across the top of the field – we followed some tram lines to the formation.  Whilst the distant impression is of a well-made formation, on closer inspection the lay looks quite messy and the edges are not “crisp” like some other crop circles we’ve visited.  The individual stems generally appear to lay flat at ground level rather than being bent (or broken), with quite a few seeds on the floor.

Whether this is genuine or not the highly visible location just above the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 is pretty spectacular.

This hillside formation that's easily seen from the busy M25, occupies a field that many over the years have silently wished for one to appear in! Many will not have realised though that this field was on the receiving end of a triangular + formation back in ' 93 (June 27th). However on that occasion the formation was placed closer to the top of the hill, rather than on its very steep side. Remarkably though, this does allow us an almost "bird's eye view" of this rather imposing "Reigate Ring".

Situated around 20 miles from central London, the Surrey Hills help to form an area of exceptional beauty. With many of them offering breathtaking views from their summits, this particular hill is no exception. Once again I feel that homage has been paid to the ancient track way known as The Pilgrims Way, that skirts around the bottom of this particular hill. This is very ancient land, and one can only imagine how beautiful and tranquil it must've been before the intrusion of the M25 and the like!

Only a mile or so away we have Reigate Hill Fort, and perhaps more importantly Reigate Heath, which supports a barrow-cemetery.  Quite a concentration of barrows and mounds can be found here and some of them can be dated to around c.1,700 - 1,400 BC.

Crop Circles are attention seekers, and there's obviously no finer way of attracting our attention than by placing one next to a busy motorway ... providing of course that they don't cause too much of a distraction as we speed along!

Just had a phone call from a guy (Jason Older) travelling on the M25 towards Heathrow. He's spotted a large collection of circles in a field to the RHS of the road, just past the Reigate turning. They weren't there on Thursday.
