The formation is linear with circles and a
central stem that appears to divert at an angle-difficult to see
from the road as it is flat and no convenient hills nearby. I found
this while driving to find the one at Meppershall, again I felt the
need to take this particular route as I have been drawn to this
field since last summer. A passing motorist said that it wasn't
there yesterday evening at 4.30 as he drives that way regularly and
always looks in the field. I will try to access tomorrow and take
interior shots.
UPDATE
A nicely swirled lay, each circle swirls in the opposite direction
and one is a spiral coming in from an attached larger semicircle.
Again difficult to see from the ground what the overall design is
but it does appear to have a central circle and semicircles above
and below. The linear section isn't straight but goes off at a
tangent-yet when you are in the top end (NW) it looks as if it is.
When down the SE end it definitely goes off at an angle from about
the centre. Each circle has a different centre, one is an elegant
tuft that just folds over gently, another is a small folded
pyramid, another swirls into a spiral. Cracking noises were
heard inside at one point. No sign of entry and the stalks are
bent not broken.
