The Great Spirit below the hill.

Woodborough Hill, No introductions here, if you don’t know about the reputation of Woodborough then where have you been?  This location has many unusual tales attached to it over many years of crop circling in Wiltshire. It has also seen many formations appear around it, and could possibly tell a few stories. Lets listen carefully and hear it whisper about the serpent below its slopes.

Woodborough Hill, a very well known location within the crop circles community around Wiltshire. Many of us have gazed at its small copse of trees, while visiting other crop circles around its general area, and indeed Knapp Hill on the other side provides a commanding vista of Woodborough, and its mysterious presence in the landscape.

But this enigmatic hillside hides a mystery in itself. Certainly whenever we hear about a latest crop circle formation we immediately feel inspired and excited about the whole experience. Its almost like it’s a small spiritual home for the circles to appear at. Very unusual feeling, but this event below its slopes was extremely fitting I felt, and once again filled us with excitement. It certainly was a surprise to see this second design at the hillside from the first one, situated further up its gentle slopes towards the famous trees.

On a glorious summer day, and at this time we were enjoying a beautiful summer with high temperatures reaching the eighties, we all had to be very careful. Whenever we receive hot weather in this country, us Brits have to be careful with our skin, as we are generally a fair skinned nation. However by this time we were all prepared, for an interesting time within the serpent, it was indeed very hot.

A flow of crop was arcing itself under the initial top lay of the crop towards the center, something out of character to the general floor construction of the formation.

The first thing that struck us was its shear size. The first initial reports gave us the impression this wasn’t a major event, but that was soon squashed, by just walking around its circle and ring, which one would have to say is the head. It was quite amazing and a great surprise to see. The construction was also very nice, quite neat although many people had been inside at this stage. However we arrived early enough to see some nice details, but with a standing tuft in the center, nothing unusual these days, but constructed in the correct manner.

It wasn’t until you walked the serpent that its real length became apparent. Its seemed to go forever, almost like Yellow Brick Road, but instead of finding a wizard at the end, we caught a courting couple, rather embarrassed by our appearance in the tail circle.  However all was well, when we found out they were members of the Web Site, so we chatted for a while, as it’s always good to meet people who are part of the site.

After our initial discussion in the end circle, we noticed further details in the floor construction. A very intriguing flow of crop, was arcing itself under the initial top lay of the crop towards the center, something out of character to the general floor construction of the formation. This goes to show that the Circlemakers can be very unpredictable at times.

So what exactly is this serpent type formation representing. Well the closest we can propose, is The Great Serpent Mound in Ohio, United States of America. Also known as the Great Spirit. Its general purpose is just as a mystery as the crop circles, but it may have major astronomical significance to the constellation of Draco. It also resembles the Woodborough Hill formation in many ways. Not only its serpentine pathway, but also the head circle with the arrow, something, which is very important in its design. Although its general direction its pointing to is a mystery at Woodborough, but on further study it would appear its pointing to Westbury White Horse in the far distance. This as anyone knows was the first place the crop circles were reported about back in 1980. Are we being shown to consider the heritage of the crop circles?

But the Great Serpent Mound has certainly the incorporation of Esoteric cipher. The reason its called the “Great Spirit” because it could be the embodiment of the sun and the moon, the creature of Radiating Light. How fitting this is indeed to the energy and possible reason these designs have decided to appear now, at this stage in humanity’s cycle.
