TRIPLE DUMBBELL SURPRISE AT BATH.
Well,
its has been a few weeks since the last event in Wiltshire, and many of
you thought it wasn’t going to happen again. It has, and its Newton St
Loe, that takes the honors near Bath. A report came into us on the 23rd
of May that a pattern had been spotted, in a field, which hasn’t seen a
crop circle since
1993. One of the quiet fields around Bath, but
nevertheless was a relief to hear the phenomenon had returned, and on
our home patch!
The
weather lately has been very wet in England, so this has meant a lack of
confidence anyway in circles forming. The latest event near Bath, was
quite a surprise, as we didn’t feel the Wheat was mature enough, and
felt we would only see Barley fields for the time being. This
particular field is still very immature (see images above) and this has
resulted in the crop recovering rapidly. The appearance of the
formation is of a brushed nature, and is becoming a faint outline.
However we can see from the images that this is based on a classic
triple dumbbell design, extremely popular in the fields back in the
early nineties.
An
aerial reconnaissance flight will be taken this weekend, and we will see
the design in more detail. But from the telephoto shots it would appear
the design has two tails on each end. The larger of the two is at the
top of the field, curling off into perhaps scrolls? There also appears
to be appendages coming off the bottom circle, but a closer inspection
is needed in dryer weather, or from the air.
More
details to follow.
