The design ( in mature barley) is of a large pentangle contained within a circle with a smaller pentangle in the centre. It was spotted on Saturday 22nd June by a passenger on the Huddersfield to Penistone train which runs close to the field. We are assuming it arrived on Friday 21st June as the passenger said he didn't see it the day before, however he couldn't be certain. Also the location is new, the formation is situated to the rear of St John The Baptist Church (village centre, off Green Lane), close to the cemetery (access via public footpath). However the area is not new as crop circles have been appearing around this village since 1997.
