As I approached the Chirton formation in the helicopter I
thought, "What a beginner's joke!" But when I zoomed in on the
circles, I realized they were very unusual -- we don't often see
classic lays like this any more.

Circle #2 in particular, with its Catherine Wheel swirl, looks
like something out of "Circular Evidence." Peter Sorensen.
