Reconstruction of the 2001 Folly Barn formation | ||
| 1. | ![]() |
Construct an equilateral triangle, pointing downwards. |
| 2. | ![]() |
Construct the inscribed circle of the triangle. |
| 3. | ![]() |
For each of the triangle's angular points, construct a circle with its center at that point, passing through the other angular points. |
| 4. | ![]() |
Draw the three rays from the center of the inscribed circle 2 (the central point of the formation) to the angular points of the triangle. |
| 5. | ![]() |
Construct a circle with its center at the intersection of a ray and the inscribed circle 2, passing through the opposite angular points of the triangle, as shown. Repeat this two more times for the intersections with the other rays. |
| 6. | ![]() |
Construct a circle concentric to a circle 3, tangent to circle 5 (at the far end), as shown. Repeat this two more times for the other circles 3 (and 5). |
| 7. | ![]() |
Construct a circle with its center at the central point of the formation, tangent to circles 6 at the outer sides, as shown. |
| 8. | ![]() |
Construct a circle concentric with a circle 5, tangent to a circle 3 at the near end, as shown. Repeat this two more times for the other circles 5 (and 3). |
| 9. | ![]() |
Circles 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8 together form the ingredients for the reconstruction. |
| 10. | ![]() |
Leaving out all unnecessary parts and making black relevant areas completes the reconstruction of the 2001 Folly Barn formation. Black denotes standing crop. |

The final result matches perfectly with the aerial image. |
