TL 4836 5325 “And
then I saw an an angel come down” And she is beautiful, is she not? Gog and Magog have once again been chosen to receive,
a rather simple, but nevertheless incredibly stunning crop circle event,
this time of such majestic beauty and harmonious proportion that, for this
writer, it’s set far apart from the bulk of the English crop formations
in 2001. The fact that this glyph is placed in a most enchanted and
evocative setting within the Cambridgeshire countryside, far away from the
politics, back stabbing and irrelevant bickering, which is inherent in and
around the usual circle hot spots, makes visiting Gog and Magog a pure
experience that will be reflected upon with a sense of great mystery which
is, after all, life. This exquisite, overtly feminine work leaves one with
a feeling of almost, child-like awe. What a pleasant way that is to ponder
these quite fantastic occurrences. For me this “angel” is possibly one
of the most attractive and inspirational crop glyphs to have ever graced
the magical lands of England. Click on thumbnails to enlarge What is it Two very chunky crescents and a standing circle of
wheat positioned within a flattened circle. Seventy-five thin paths of
downed crop slice through the largest of these crescents with dramatic
effect. From an aerial perspective this formation must be considered,
without doubt, one of the finest of the season. As can be
seen from the images above, all the standing sections are placed within
the outer circle with a precision that is beyond reproach. Throughout the
whole formation that razor sharp look is consistent, to the degree of
obsessive perfection. The floor construction is also extremely fluid and
neat, very bouncy. At several locations within the laid crop areas there
were poppy flowers in full bloom, standing out of the laid stems of wheat,
giving the whole formation a delicate yin flavour This is rather
interesting when one considers how fragile these flowers are, surely any
mechanical device would have caused these plants huge trauma. To me it
seems as if the agency involved in the creation of the real crop formations can be so
effective and so subtle at their high craft that they can, with no
problem, skirt around small flowers and other plants without causing any
damage whatsoever. The thin paths through the larger crescent were
amazing. Each one is (approx) six inches wide and it looked as if they had
been put down in the crop with great care and softness. The way this
mature wheat was laid is also rather interesting. Down the length of each
of the paths the crop has been whipped up from one side, it looked as if a
small tube-wave had gone through, leaving the corn gently brushed up one
side of the wall of standing crop. This effect is consistent throughout
all seventy-five avenues. Also of interest is the fact that this formation
appears to be related to the huge circle just over the hill. When I
measured the formation’s diameter the tape pulled tight at exactly two
hundred and thirty seven feet. The amazing labyrinth within the huge
circle measured exactly the same, 237’ ft, how odd. Perhaps a
coincidence, I think not. I left the formation in no doubt that the same
circle making agency responsible for the 666’ft ring, the maze and the
square-ish temple formation over the hill, has returned to this area for
yet another sortie. A beautiful crop formation, V Sexy! © Charles R Mallett 2001 Signs Of The Times |
