FLYING REPORT
HILL
BARN BRINGS ANCIENT SYMBOLISM TO THE 2001 CROP CIRCLE SEASON
Hill Barn is a small hillside facing the M4
motorway, with a high embankment, separating the motorway, from this
impressive, but rather contrasting formation. We decided to fly over the formation on Monday 18th
June. The weather was
favourable, until around 6pm, when unfortunately clouds started to roll
in across the Wiltshire countryside. This didn’t dampen our spirits to
fly, and we took off around 7.20pm, with just enough light to capture
this latest formation. Its
situated on the bottom slopes of Liddington Castle, in a northerly
direction. The flight took
around 20 minutes to reach the location, in a small micro light
aircraft. I can tell you,
this is the only way to fly crop circles, safely and reassembly cheaply
as well. The craft is slow enough for you to rotate around the
formation, creating enough time to compose your shots. It was a
pleasurable experience, and will continue to be a major part of our crop
circle reports this year, but I can tell you its cold up there! There is no doubting now, that this formation is
most definitely The Ouroboros
a symbol of great importance to many ancient cultures.
To give an example, in Egypt, it was used to symbolize the
eternity of time and the boundary of the universe.
A wonderful description I felt, but this of course could have
significant references towards the crop circles themselves?
Perhaps the Circlemakers themselves are telling us that the
serpent is representing the death of the symbolism within the central
part, or perhaps a new dawn for the phenomenon?
It is said that the Ouroboros eats its own tail to sustain its
life, in an eternal cycle of renewal. This could mean that they are
telling us the patterns are here to stay, and evolving all the time.
It has given us a lot to think about, as this pattern has reached
quite deeply into many of our readers, since its creation. Will it
continue? Report by Stuart Dike |

"I'm trying to confirm whether or not there's a Circle in
the standing
crop to the right of the 3 large Circles (which appear to me to be holding
the same positions as the Pyramids on the Giza Plateau, i.e. the 3 stars
of Orion's belt). Since there clearly appears to be a Giza connection
with these 3 Circles, I'm wondering if the Sphinx is also represented in
the Formation.
The satellite photo on the left shows the 3 Giza Plateau Pyramids with
the Sphinx denoted at the arrow. In the adjacent photo, the 3 large laid
Circles correspond to the 3 Pyramids; and I believe there may be a
'marker' holding the relative position of the Sphinx IN THE STANDING
CROP between the 3 laid Circles and the center of the Formation.
The question I seek an answer to regards this potential 'marker': Is the
marked and enlarged 'Circle?' (what appears to me to be) a tufted Circle
surrounded by at least 3 outriders, with perhaps a fourth as in a
Celtic Cross), in fact THERE IN THE FIELD, holding the relative place of
the Sphinx? The large central Circle in this standing crop appears
laid, and there's a strong indication it's got a standing tuft in its
center; the at least 3 outriders, if they're there, appear to be denoted
by VERY narrow Rings, and also look like they have standing-tuft centers.
It makes perfect sense to me that the Celtic Cross would be an
appropriate 'place-holder' for the Sphinx ...
Does anyone have a tight aerial shot of THIS area? If yes, does it
confirm or preclude the possibility I raise?
Thank you for whatever help anyone might offer,
