Sittingbourne, nr Rochester, Kent.  Reported 5th September.

We've just been informed that a small single circle was spotted near Sittingbourne, Kent around 2 weeks ago (approx. mid August).  Apparently it was noticeable from the train, on its approach to Sittingbourne from Kemsley.  Is there anyone out there who can help to verify or substantiate this?  (It has probably been harvested by now.)

Graham Tucker
Medway Crop Circle

Just confirming that there was a small, simple circle back in August, between Kemsley and Sittingbourne; I spotted it from the train - perfectly circular, but without any kind of elaboration.  No idea who created it, or if the crop was wheat or barley.

Church Stretton, nr Ludlow, Shropshire. Reported 1st September.

I have been told of a formation off the A5 by the Ludlow / Church Stretton turnoff. It is a single circle approximately 20
foot across.

There is a Little Chef just after the formation.

Athens, Tennessee, USA. Reported 20th August.

There was a new crop circle formation shown on our local TV news on Channel 9. It appeared last Saturday night, near Athens, Tennessee.
It looked like a very detailed circle. But there was just a brief mention and an even briefer picture.  Since then there has been no information, anywhere, about it.

It was such a brief flash they showed and was also very indistinct. But it looked vaguely like an outline of a horse with another formation alongside. It seemed pretty detailed but to be honest I really didn't get a proper look at it. Please let me know if you find out anything further.

Reported by Wendy Pickford.

Bonham Farm, nr Stourhead Gardens, Dorset. Reported 18th August.

A single circle. No more info at the moment.

Pepperbox Hill, nr Salisbury, Wiltshire. Reported 15th August.

Located along the A36(T)  Between Whaddon and Newton.

South Cerney, Gloucestershire. Reported 11th August.

One of our contacts informs us that a single circle was spotted from a coach on the A419 Cirencester to Swindon road between the South Cerney Watersports Centre and the village of Down Ampney.

East of the road, it lies in a field near some Thames Water Authority buildings.  That’s all we have!

UPDATE #1

A few more details on the Gloucestershire formation which you may like to add to my listing - apparently it wasn't a single circle, but a circle with some kind of spoke arrangement inside. It may now have been harvested though.

Manti,  Utah. USA. Reported 4th August.

Hello. My name is Morrie Cloward. I live in Manti Utah. Manti is located right in the middle the state of Utah. I was driving past the cemetery
today which is in the City limits. And in a field that is across the street west from the Cemetery there are some crop circle formations. I have never
seen this type of phenomena ever in my life. I just wanted to tell someone, you know, in case someone wanted to come and take some pictures or
something like that. These crop circles are in the city limits. Anyway, just thought I would let you know. I looked at your web page.

Culver Down, nr Brading, Isle of Wight. Reported 1st August.

If it isn't already noted you might like to report a crop circle on the Isle of Wight which I spotted this morning - it is  adjacent to the B3395 between Bembridge and Brading, in the field opposite the turning to Culver Down. It comprises a single larger circle with a single satellite - nothing particularly special but maybe worth noting  for the record!

Holton, nr Wincanton, Somerset. Reported 30th July.

On my way to Glastonbury last Sunday, I spotted a crop circle just a mile or so Southwest of the Wincanton A303 junction. It was on the Southside of the dual carriageway, perhaps a hundred yards or so away and seemed to be near a large tree.

No photograph, just caught a glimpse of it as I turned off the dual carriageway towards Wincanton. It was over my right shoulder and appeared
to be a simple circle of about 100ft or so. It did seem to have a 'rough', or interlaced floor pattern, but the view was difficult in the traffic.
Probably in barley?

Reported by George Bishop.

Location: near Silton, Somerset visible from the A303 westbound just before junction with B3081.
Crop: Wheat, harvested by 12/8/00
Description: Single circle approx 80ft across, laid clockwise, near large tree, almost three tramways wide.
Discovery: 5/8/00. This is a confirmation of George Bishops report in Crop Circle rumours, sadly no photo.

West Bretton, nr Barnsley, West Yorkshire. Reported 30th July.

At 3.02 pm I was informed by message on my answering machine of a crop circle at Junction 38 of the M1. It appears to be at least seven circles, possibly in a ring. That particular junction is the Barnsley one and it is easily visible as you take the slip road.

Temple Ewell, nr Dover, Kent. Reported 29th July

A crop Circle formation was spotted by Ed and Kris Sherwood at approximately 3pm on 29th July 2000 after returning from Paris on a Euroline Coach.  The formation comprised of a single  30 feet circle and a  30 feet Triangle, 30 feet separates the two formations. They looked clean (fresh). They were on the right hand side of the A2 out of Dover over a hedge. More info to follow.

Reported by Ed and Kris Sherwood.

The Dover formation noted under your" Rumours" pp. could not be found yesterday so the field might have already been harvested. Will investigate further for any traces.

Reported by Joyce Galley (CCCS Kent)

Graham Tucker asked me to email you about the Dover Formation.  Unfortunately its a short report - the farmer had cut it out of the field by the time we got to drive down there. We were moving house when we heard about it and didn't get the chance to see it earlier.

Aarhus, Jutland, Denmark. Reported 29th July.

I have just come off the phone to my Mum and Dad in Denmark. They told me that they saw on the news that a crop circle had appeared south of Aarhus, Jutland in Denmark. This happened about ten days ago. They think it was either a lot of circles or like a clover. This is the only information I have got so far. I will try to find out more. I saw that you haven't got in on the connector yet.

Dartington, Totes, Devon. Reported 5th July.

Heard of a crop circle at Dartington today, not had chance to see it yet, but it is in a similar spot to one a year or two ago and in poor condition -
Complex of rings and broken rings in wheat - very ripe apparently so it will not last long.

UPDATE #1

Saw a sketch of the preliminary survey of the Dartington formation today It would appear to be some 150ft across and strongly suggests that it looks like this;(!)

COCK

The recorder did not notice the apparently coherent nature of the formation, as the upright (I) on the 'K' was lost, or embedded, in the tramline. He
simply recorded it as:

COC<

It is in close proximity to Dartington College where crop circles have appeared twice before.

UPDATE #2

Just a note to correct a few fallacies and omissions about the above circle.

Went to visit it today, Saturday 8th July, as I was at the local Quest 2000 event at Newton Abbot.

It is in Barley and not that ripe, it will probably be cut in about a fortnight - depending upon the weather. The letters are about 42 feet high and about 4.5 feet wide. The bar in the 'K' is also 4.5 feet wide so it is quite distinctive and prominent from the disused tramlines.

The field is one in which crop circles have appeared on a regular basis and is in full view of Dartington College and the offices of 'Kindred Spirit'
magazine.

Nothing worth getting excited about, but worth recording for the record! Didn't take my camera with me, but I might try to get a photo tomorrow,
although it is a very poor 'vista' and will probably not work out very well. If I can persuade one of our local pilots to fly it I will try to get him to photograph it for us. It would be far better from the air, even if by so doing I may be breaking the law!

Report George Bishop.

Knowlton Rings, Gussage All Saints, nr Wimborne Minister, Dorset. Reported 4th July?

Hi there  I think I saw a formation in a Dorset field ( hillside) yesterday...we were in the car but are going back tomorrow to check it out.

SU024103

Report Jackie Hayman.

UPDATE #1

Just saw the rumour of a circle in Wimborne Minster, Knowlton Rings in Dorset. This formation was reported to me on Wednesday 5th July so I shot over there that evening to have a look; this year I am focusing my efforts in the Dorset CCs as they will hopefully have had much less visitor impact and so on.

Unfortunately the field is full of large areas of lodging and no formation is around. The atmosphere whilst I was there was very potent though and I am
sure we will experience something around this area, at some point this season.

I would say that a lot of the Dorset ones that go unreported each year are eliminated from CC lists as they turn out to be lodging; the County does not attract the same amount of attention or enthusiasm as Wilts and so there may be a lack of experienced 'sighters' around.

 NORTH AMERICA. Reported 30th June.

I've had two more reports of crop circles in the States:

1. A set of 3 circles in Missouri (not yet confirmed; no photos yet)
2. A set of 5 circles in Owen County, Indiana, near Rt. #67 (not yet confirmed; no photos yet).

BLT has field teams alerted and trying to confirm. Will forward info as we get it.

Greenham Common, Newbury, Berkshire.  Reported 30th June.

I understand that there is a formation near Greenham Common, Newbury, reported by a pilot who flew over it recently.

Report by Andrew King.

  Pecarovci, Slovenia. Reported 25th June.

Two circles, one round ring in diameter of 32 meters ( 1 meter thick), the center circle of 8 meters in diameter; all the grain lied down in left direction (the opposite of the clock), all the grain undamaged; the border between the wheat and the barley passes right through the center of the small circle. This is the first crop circle known in Slovenia!!

Garsington, nr Oxford, Oxfordshire. Reported 16th June.

Hello, would like to report a formation nr Oxford, I live in Oxford and whenever I can check out the surrounding landscape east of the city which over the years has hosted some formations, but the area is so flat its nearly impossible to check along the roads, Garsington is the only high point which from here I spotted the formation, in a large barley field... a real nightmare to get into, a lot of walking and very remote. The formation itself is quite old and I estimate it to be 2-3 weeks old as the barley has grown back up...its a large 200ft circle with a 80ft 'turbine shape' sticking into the side, badly damaged by wind.

Reported by Rob Bateman.

Perigord, nr France.  Reported 11th June.

A formation approx 100 yards long. More information to follow

Essex. Reported end of April.

I know of a crop formation in Essex but the other party wont tell me its location., All I know is it is multiple circles or rings in rape.

Reported by Nick Nicholson

All Canning Down, nr Devizes, Wiltshire. Reported 25th April.

The second consists of a single circle approx 40' diameter. at All Cannings Down in Wiltshire, in Oilseed rape.

Reported by P.Vigay.

There is a rumour going around (on Vigay's mailing list) of a formation at  All Cannings Down. There is a circular marking in oil seed rape near map
reference SU090655. However it is not a crop circle. It is clearly visible  from the Wansdyke, although it is in the middle of nowhere, so you are likely  to get reports.

Reported by Russell Stannard.

Grately, nr Quarley, Hampshire. Reported 18th March 2000

An aerial reconnaissance of the area discovered no visual evidence of a formation.

I got into crop circles last year through your page and now I may be able to  give something back to you. My cousin was coming back from his girlfriend's  house yesterday morning and was following a footpath through a field when he  saw some odd shape in the field. On closer inspection it appears to have  been a crop circle. He called me straight away to tell me he was standing  in  a crop circle, and when he'd finally convinced me he was telling the  truth I got some details from him. It appears to be a large simple circle in  a field of some kind of green crop, possibly oilseed. It is located between  Grately and Quarley, near Andover, just South of Quarley hill. I haven't  seen it myself, but I thought I'd report it. Are you the correct person to  report it to? I've never reported a circle before and I'm not sure of the  correct protocol. Is it the first one of the millennium? If so, do I win a  prize?

OK, sorry your boys had a wasted journey, needless to say I berated my  cousin, but he maintains it's a circle in the area and gave me the OS info
you wanted. I'm just quoting what he said to me - the following means  nothing to me I'm afraid!

Here we go: The map type is OS explorer 131 and the position is 426274. Hope  this info can lead to a positive sighting!

Please let me know how you get on. Best of luck!
