Located within what is now regarded as an active field for crop circles, this latest formation, was once again, a design that had got away from the researchers. It was probably a few weeks old, when first spotted, as the crop was recovering rapidly in young Barley

The shape itself, has a strong astrological significance I thought, when we received the first pictures. My reason for thinking this, is the research being currently obtained from the highly controversial debate on the mysterious 12th Planet in our solar system. Anyone, who has read the Earth Chronicle books by Zecharia Sitchin, will know about the Annunaki, and their supposed influence on mankind. The 12th Planet, is 4 times the size of the Earth, and has a 3600 year orbit around our sun. Its moons, are causing further debate, as there could be at least 8 or 9, similar in size to our own moon.

The Barley was extremely young when the formation appeared, which can be very frustrating for any ground survey, as its recovery was too rapid. It now just resembles wind damage in the field, and probably a similar appearance when freshly put down. This may be why it was seen late.

On Saturday we drove south to see a formation that was reported several days earlier near the Morestead Road. We were accompanied by my pal Nick and Francine Blake, the head of the Wiltshire crop circle group.

After a long hunt, we found the formation, which we at first thought was wind damage, in a barley field. Standing inside it, Francine pointed out that it looked like a bear's paw.

The young barley had recovered about 50%, and a powerful wind came up and whipped the circles about in an awesome display like a storm-tossed sea (those of you who have seen my 1999 video know how beautiful this is). I've attached a picture of the wind swishing the stalks around -- but a still shot doesn't do it justice.

UPDATE

The formation I saw is at SU 529258. I think this might be the same one as reported elsewhere, but they have a different grid ref to this. I will hopefully confirm this to you as I'm going down that way again tomorrow. The one I saw was definitely NOT all the circles in the aerial photo, though. There was only 1, maybe 2 circles. I'll keep you informed.

Think I may have seen the first circle in Barley for this year. It's in Owslebury, Hampshire, near Winchester. It's in the same field as the one last year and appears to be a singe circle, approx 20 feet in diameter, possibly with another one nearby. I will try to get a closer look when it is a bit drier, as today (Wednesday) it was drizzly all evening. Looks quite new- I'm sure it wasn't there yesterday morning when I passed. Hope this helps

Another person has reported this  formation on the Morestead/Owslebury cross roads.   The formation is in  early barley and consists scalloped 12" edges. Since the earlier report it seems the formation has grown from a single to 7 circles.  The circles  have eye brows and in the middle  of the formation is an eternity symbol. It  now measures   over  60 diameter in diameter.
